The funny things is that even if the UK government allowed another Scottish independence referendum it would also set out what would happen in the event of the vote going for independence. Scotland has so little money of it's own and so little income that the voters will see bankruptcy within a few years and vote to remain.

The USA is also a constitutional republic, but I doubt there is any reference to bumming in the Declaration of Independence. So they wouldn't need an amendment to the constitution, to legislate on something that wasn't in the constitution to begin with.

I think we can all agree that Scotland chose, along with Northern Ireland to remain in the EU and as the UK is supposed to be an amalgamation of 4 equal states there should have no way both countries should be out the EU against their will.
