I dont think there's ever been a wealth tax in the UK.
What is usually taxed is income, capital gains and the sale of products.
In the UK only crazed lefties come up with the idea of a tax on money remaining after it's been taxed.
I bet some idiots would think it was normal to tax wealth.

 

I suppose rates/community charge/council tax is a tax on a person's property component of their wealth. But it is an attempt to pay for the owner's use of council services rather than Burgon's hatred of rich people.
