It used to be a thriving Jewish community when we invited refugees from EUROPE after the Germans tried to exterminate them .
Mostly starting businesses in the textile industry.

They built a great Synagogue in Spitalfields but in the 1960s onwards Bangladeshis moved in and hounded the Jews out .

There is a Bagel shop and 1 other Jewish owned business, the Synagogue is now a Mosque.
