    Facts not in evidence...

The reality is probably more like the civil servants and Tory Party staffers will have been out in the garden every day of the week for social distancing purposes. Somebody decided it would be okay to bring a few bottles and now, a couple of years down the line, somebody is making mischief.

While the Russians are eyeing up an invasion of the Ukraine, our scurrilous tabloids are still trying to drag mileage out of this total non story because someone brought Boris birthday cake into the office. Why do they not try attacking the PM’s policies: a Socialist/Green mishmash that will lead to his downfall and our collective impoverishment?

Whilst Joe Biden is the worst US President since the last one and his profligate Green Deal is a disaster waiting to happen (just as soon as they get the West Virginia Democrat to vote it through), the fall of the half dozen stocks that have driven the US stock market is down to the fact that several of them have reached the point where investors have realised that the free ride is over. Netflix just reported growth is plateauing as they have reached saturation point for new signings. With interest rates about to rise and inflation biting at consumers’ disposable income, stocks that have benefited from lockdowns – such as Peloton’s terminally flawed business model – no longer look worth holding. With the Fed cutting back on QE, the easy money for share buybacks will be drying up too.

The cryptocurrencies are getting crushed because several dominions where they were ‘mined’ have started to introduce bans, such as China and Russia. Also cryptocurrencies seem to ebb and flow with the public actions of a few billionaires like Elon Musk.

The big Central Banks stopped worrying about their inflation remit ages ago and have produced easy money to keep the global debt mountain expanding. Wait until they are funding the rush towards the fantasy of ‘Net Zero’, estimated to cost $275 trillion by 2050. When we are spending 8 per cent of GDP on wind farms, the Millennial and Generation Z tree huggers might see how poor they are going to become. Riding a bike for Deliveroo or Just Eat is not much of a career prospect and they will never be able to afford an eco-friendly house.

Only in America....Well, they all look the same don't they?

Shane Lee Brown has accused two police departments in Nevada in the federal civil rights lawsuit of wrongful arrest and negligence.

The 25-year-old alleges that Henderson and Las Vegas police detained him for six days after mistaking him for Shane Neal Brown when he was pulled over in January last year, NBC News reports.

The lawsuit claims that the mix-up began after the traffic stop, in which he failed to provide a driver's licence, prompting his arrest.

After he was pulled over, Brown "established his identity by providing his name, social security number, and social security card to the officer", the lawsuit states.

    Sad news.

It's not clear if the side events of knob-eating, knob-painting, a knob & spoon race, guess the weight of the big knob and knob darts are still going ahead, but the main event of knob throwing has grown too large, so they had trouble with supply of knobs .

The record length is 29.4m (96ft), set by Dave Phillips in 2012.

In its most recent budget, the Scottish government committed £25.3 million in taxpayers’ cash to Gaelic learning and a further £3 million to a “Gaelic Capital Fund”.

Last year, it published a 48-page Gaelic plan, in which it hailed the language as “an integral part of Scotland’s heritage, national identity and current cultural life”.

However, it appeared that civil servants had failed to consult an expert at the agency, which employs the equivalent of 19 full-time workers.
