Poland are proving why we don't want Germany fining us £1m a day for not submitting to their tyranny.

Germany will probably invade Poland again with their EUROPEAN UNION army at this rate.

Just been through the Guardian looking for Brexit related articles, nothing much to see today: a doom-mongering opinion piece by an economist and a bit of frog sabre rattling over licences for about 50 fishing boats. Still, if it gets you wet: enjoy.

<doh> More facts not in evidence from the crazed Left...

There has been no new water regulation enacted since the “Floods and Water (Amendment etc.) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019”, dated 20th March 2019, which changed the wording of the various existing laws (such as the Water Act 1989) so that the words “an EU obligation” was substituted with the words “a retained EU obligation”. This was done as part of the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018.

But why would desperate Remainers looking to blame everything on Brexit bother with facts?

Extinction Rebellion protesters break into UK's biggest oil refinery and lock themselves to 50ft silos

You can pretty much figure out what happened here just from the headline.

The solution is very simple. Leave the eco-warriors chained up. Repair the perimeter fences and strengthen them to prevent more intrusions. Leave the eco-warriors to starve to death. They will have died for their cause and hardly anybody will be bothered as a few hard Left lunatics are no loss to society. The rest of us can look forward to our future on a “living planet” where Darwin theory continues to remove the useless from the gene pool.

The morning after Socialist Sunak had been on his un-conservative money-spending spree, it was interesting to see many organs of the media comparing him to Gordon Brown. That is an unrealistic comparison. Brown’s largesse was funded mostly by PFI, allowing massive funding for schools and hospitals by robbing Peter (the youth of the day and their progeny) to pay Paul (the New Labour voters of the turn of the millennium).

That PFI still exists but Sunak has found MMT to pile on top. He went to great lengths to refer to this increase in debt as “investment” but this is Keynesian Boris trying to “level up” not Friedman-like Sunak creating growth. Big State Boris is killing Conservatism and Sunak, favourite to be his successor, is committing political suicide in a fashion last seen 30 years ago before the Blair New Labour landslide of 1997.

The Budget was quite popular on the benches behind the Chancellor as it left the Shadow Chancellor with virtually nothing to complain about and none of them had actually looked at the small print. Sunak claimed that much of this spending was necessary because of the pandemic but that is disingenuous. It was a political choice to target the middle classes as they are seen as least likely to abandon the Tories at the ballot box.

Some of the things that Rishi heralded as good for small business do not stand up to inspection. The business rate cuts for small brewers will apply to hardly any of them because of the large size of the barrels that qualify. But it sounded good.

Paul Johnson of the left-leaning Institute for Fiscal Studies (IFS) did look at the detail and found that taxes will rise to post-War levels. Sunak’s claims that he will produce tax cuts before the next election are unrealistic. We are already on course for spending nearly 40 per cent of GDP on health services because nobody dare reform the bottomless pit of waste that is the holy grail of the NHS.

People had best enjoy whatever wage rises they get in the next year or so because this was a budget for Big State stagnation on a level seen across Europe courtesy of the magic money tree. So much for Brexit freeing us from Socialism... <doh>

Mate, Brexit has happened get over it.

Are you one of the stupid one''s that thought 40 years of entanglement would cease on day one?
France and Germany were never going to make this easy because they will now have to pump so much more money into the EU to keep it afloat, do you see any other countries being awkward with us.

Now you have Poland who have realised that their courts/justice system is expected to bow to a higher authority, they won't (or if they do the Polish people will not like it and the Government will not last long.
The EU will slowly break up and life will go on for everyone.

I think what we need from the Brexiteers is just a single thing that has come from leaving that is a benefit. I suppose they will say sovereignty but that is such a vague concept that it means nothing. What appears to be the main outcome is a looming trade war over scallops that nobody in the UK wants to eat and will probably be banned from selling in the EU. And a 4% reduction in GDP. Not sure how that plays into the £350m a week for the NHS.
