    This is a war we cannot win but we may as well cease any further cooperation and giving money to the frogs as they clearly are doing nothing to prevent this happening despite their promises.

    Relationships with the frogs have turned very frosty of late this is true but we will always have to work together in many areas as we are but a canoe paddle away from them.

    The people delivering the dinghies are clearly part of a people-smuggling operation which I believe is against the law over there. Why are the gendarmes not arresting them?

    Probably too busy with the cheese course. French police stations go incommunicado between noon and three pm until the effects of a long, leisurely lunch have worn off. The local gendarme here openly admits to taking a post prandial nap in his cell. Bought him a glass of red yesterday lunchtime. No tickets for me! It's a great way to run a country.

    Yes getting into a boat isn't illegal. People smuggling is though. The people providing the boats and taking the money should be arrested, investigated, tried and imprisoned. And they are doing it with the law stood there watching.
