Lots of fun on Brexit. Checks on EU goods incoming deferred until next July. Meanwhile EU exporters can export freely into the UK. A huge advantage to foreign businesses and a huge disadvantage to those in the UK. We have taken back control!

 

It kind of shows a level of adult behaviour by the UK and how petty the EU are.

Everyone knows and accepts that we have all met the same standards for decades (the UK has actually had higher standards in many things) yet the EU in it's petulance has decided we need severe checks on imports to make sure we maintain our higher standards whilst we accept that they will at least maintain their acceptable ones.

In that case would it not have been wise to have drawn up the exit agreement in such a manner as to preclude the EU from using it to **** us over? Or maybe our " negotiators" didn't have enough nouse to actually negotiate. So in effect your argument is that we just relied upon the people we had been at loggerheads with for years to treat us nicely. I note that you don't dispute the basis of my post, that we are in fact being ****ed by the EU. Should we not be a tad unhappy with the people who allowed this to happen?
