She had a letter to say that they are sending a contactless card she called the bank and they told her that she has to have it.

I opened an account with £500 overdraft and told them I didn't want any credit and they had to call head office to have it removed.

Bank staff are not the brightest , just button pushers now.

Probably, she doesn't mind having a plastic card with her photo on for free travel.

If a Romanian pickpocket takes that he won't be able to do much with it .

Even the £40 contactless theft would be an inconvenience and with the security number on the back you could do quite a lot of damage until it's detected .

I understand her distrust of technology & gypos.
