In today's enlightened times, anyone could go, and claim to declare as a female. They could also claim to be muslim, as it doesn't say you have to be a good or practicing one.

I'm sure they'd be welcomed.

Why not tell it to us straight?

 

The Jehovah’s Witnesses are getting smarter but not that smart. There used to be a time when they would come around the street knocking on doors, often in couples, and you could start betting on how many times they would get sworn at and doors slammed in their faces.

I did notice that a couple of years ago they just sent round the women and the kids. They figured that people would not swear at the kids or slam doors on them. That was probably right but when I saw them gathering at the corner of the street, it was easiest to just not answer the door.

This year they gathered on the corner of the street but there was one bloke, three young women and a load of kids. They gave the kids a handful of leaflets each and they went around the street stuffing them through letterboxes.

This was particularly bad news for the local Liberal Democrats as their candidate for the May Council elections was going around the street at the same time stuffing leaflets through letterboxes so they will all go in the recycling together unread. She is up against it as she lost to a dead woman by 32 votes last time and this time is up against the Council’s deputy Marxist.

It's not intimidating but this flagging of everything is very reminiscent of the Brexiteer's bogey country back in the 30's . And I'm quite sure that with their party strategists it's been thought out that way. I'm hoping that some EU countries will start a Codgertransport scheme.
