During that year that we wasted trying to reach a free trade agreement with the EU, they had ample opportunity to do away with all the bureaucracy. The problem for the The Project is that they needed to make an example of us for daring to leave the sinking ship because support for the E.S.S.R. is starting to dwindle. If Brexit Britain is successful, more people across Europe will question why they are surrendering more and more national powers to an unelected, unaccountable Brussels Politburo.

It is interesting how Euroscepticism is virtually unheard of in Germany when one looks back at how much resistance there was to the idea of the Euro back in the 1990s. The Bundesbank’s successful control of inflation made the rest of Europe look fiscally incompetent (although it was a myth). Shackling it to a common currency would stop the Deutschmark from preventing other states running unsustainable deficits.

Back in 1990 the Bundesbank opposed the single currency but Helmut Schmidt got big German business (e.g. Volkswagen, Daimler-Benz, Commerzbank, Deutsche Bank and Dresdner Bank) on board. When the ECB was founded in 1997, the Germans failed to get deficit limits built into the Euro. The Maastricht Treaty was the first step on the road to European financial disaster, brokered by Jacques Delor. I became a Brexiteer when federalist toerag John Major signed it. When Germany signed it, the country’s economic academics opposed it.

With the high possibility of inflation in the wake of the current economic crisis in the Eurozone, German politicians may well be punished by the people, who hate high inflation.

They have dumbed down all the subjects and the exams so that everyone passes and everyone, therefore, is a success. There were so many getting A grades that they had to invent a new grade of A* so that it did not look suspicious. Only a matter of time before they get A** and then everyone can have at least 3 As. No cartoons in R.E. but back in my day our Paddy teacher let us sit at the back of the class playing cards while the God botherers sat at the front and paid attention.
