52% of the UK (about to split probably) think we were wrong to leave. How many in England would vote to join and how many would need to for the EU to consider letting us? I couldn't see them contemplating it unless support was over 60%. They wouldn't want us to just agree to join knowing we might have another vote before long to just agree to leave. I'm afraid you'll probably be dead before England joins the EU.
Think you're making the incorrect assumption that the poll, unlike the referendum, is binary - absolutely nobody would believe that, in this instance, the remaining 48% don't think we made a mistake. Perhaps you need to read it again?
