A US family caused a bomb scare at Israel's main international airport after presenting an unexploded artillery shell at a security check.

They had picked up the ordnance on a visit to the Israeli occupied Golan Heights, site of wars between Israel and Syria, according to authorities.

Ben Gurion airport, just outside Tel Aviv, is considered to have one of the highest levels of security in the world. Vehicles and travellers pass through security checks before they reach the terminal and check-in area.

Israel is also on high alert after a series of deadly attacks across the country in recent weeks.

I think out of convenience to go on holiday to Spain etc they will sell it as a good thing , Boris came out recently saying that the current passport office is not fit for purpose and too expensive so they will sneak it through by having an app that updates your passport for a fraction of the price this will be paired with your driving licence national insurance and NHS number .

It will start off voluntary then paper passports will be phased out .

Labour last night admitted it had lied about an event at which Sir Keir Starmer is alleged to have broken lockdown rules.

In a sensational U-turn, Labour acknowledged that Angela Rayner was also at the event on April 30 last year at which Sir Keir was filmed enjoying a beer with officials at a time when indoor socialising was banned.

A Labour spokesman said last night: 'Angela was present.' A party source claimed the previous denials had been 'an honest mistake'.
