Of course, the elephant in the room on the winter fuel payments is the costs of the fuel in the first place. Scrap the wasteful aspects of Net Zero, and tackle, support farmers and local industry and eliminate the amounts wasted on funding the migrants, and there's be no need to provide that extra bounce in the first place.
Reform should be 1/3 in the betting, not 11/8, I just cannot see how they possibly lose when promising to deport a million people obviously deporting 1m illegals is only a minor patch up, we need to deport 15-20m legals ideally, and they probably wont even deliver it anyway, but with Starmer and the tories reputation in tatters, it looks a slam dunk for Reform the market is underestimating how much of a certainty they are, and I called it back when they were 9/2

The trade deals will do very little for jobs or living standards for years to come. And one of them (with the US) isn’t even yet a deal. I was in old London Town today to visit Temple Church, then the Guards Museum on Birdcage Walk. A scruffy dude on the tube was aiming a banana at people and going 'Bang! Bang!' Twas amusing actually. The train in was absolutely filthy, but that's down to the company failing to uphold certain standards. I've fired off an email of complaint. All in all, a pleasant trip.
I don't remember the tube being clean in my lifetime. Apart from the posh lines that seem to get spruced up all the time.
