I travel regularly for business and most of the larger airport hubs in Europe have e-gates, nothing has changed there. What happens in these airports is you use the e-gate and then have to have your passport stamped as currently e-gates don’t “timestamp” when used. Having your passport stamped is the only formal way of registering entry and is a direct result of Brexit. I have, however, seen e-gates waiting to be installed at Lanzarote airport, so do understand that some of the holiday destinations still don’t have them. Either way, I guess it’s not going to impact you as I’m guessing foreign travel is definitely not for someone who appears to be stuck in the 1800’s
