I think part of what happened is this: If a Pole comes to the UK to work: they get on with the job. If a third worlder comes to the UK to work: they do everything they can to get as many of their own kind here via family visas, work visas if they ever get in any management role, any trick they can find.

I had a contract at a massive pharma company. They hired an African manager. After a few months there were 5 Africans in the office. Mostly useless.
