I didn't say they were made in Northampton.

A cursory search shows they make them in Vietnam, Brazil & India.

If they made them in Bangladesh I wouldn't be seen dead in them .

No, she hasn’t. You’ve just posted a crap meme that says she has, because you are a mental midget with the IQ of a fence post.

I lived in my two bedroom flat long before Brexit as it makes no sense to own a huge house and pay fortunes in Council Tax that is squandered on the brain dead Leftie voting proletariat around here. I suppose if I had a six bedroom house I could have got in half a dozen Ukrainian nymphomaniacs and claimed loads of benefits and subsidies, so perhaps I missed a trick there.

Toby’s mum lets him live in the basement because she could not rent it out to the Oirish and the Dutch girl in the attic would not share. The floor is solid so he cannot hear her shagging a statue whisperer upstairs.

Rent controls. That has worked well in the past. Amazing what short memories statue whisperers have...

I know someone that owns a number of properties in Romford, leases them to the local council for a nice fat fee and the council have to pay for the upkeep of the properties and if the place gets smashed up by the proletariat that they put in them they have to fix it. So he is not even really a wealthy landlord anymore as the local council are paying him so they can play at landlord. Just another example of how totally useless the State is at anything and how easy it is for the private sector to profit from them.

I do not think that the Oirish want them back. They originally left too long ago and they have developed a deranged accent.

Small boat arrivals: last 7 days

Going to that link on 14th December, it reports (last updated 13th December) that 609 people arrived in 9 small boats on 12th December. Bizarrely, nobody officially arrived in the previous six days, so the average was only 87 a day last week.

You need to go and find a statue somewhere in Whitehall that will tell you the official definition of recession. Back at the beginning of 2024, there was a recession – two consecutive quarters of negative growth – dating back to the end of 2023. Before the election, the country returned to very moderate growth, ending that technical recession.

Two consecutive months of negative growth under this regime means that we are on track for a quarter of negative growth. As the stupidity of the Budget measures introduced by Rachel from Accounts takes effect then that is probably going to see further decline in the first quarter of 2025, meaning a return to official recession. She will blame the Tories and the yet to be seen £22bn black hole.

Most councils did a pretty good job of managing their housing stock, until they were forced to sell it all off at way below the market rate.

It’s a myth that the free market makes a better job of managing resources than the state; look at the absolute mess the private water companies have made of one of the UKs most plentiful resources.
