The problem with ULEZ seems to be the company running the fines claims. My mate's van was for sale on Van Trader and some scrote obviously got a set of plates and put them on his van. When the fine came through I phoned them on his behalf and pointed out six major differences. ( One being that his van is a long wheelbase and about two metres longer than the one they have a pic of) I sent photographs of his van so they could check. They said ' computer says no'. Now awaiting a tribunal where their case will get thrown out. So that accounts for about a grand of unpaid fines.

One has to wonder whether the police would have investigated the theft at all if the purse had been lifted from a neighbouring hotel room occupied by Mrs Agnes McDonald, an eighty year old spinster who was in the hotel restaurant having bangers and mash for lunch having just walked out of Boots down the road without paying for three lipsticks and a bottle of blue rinse.

People that bought one for more than £10 will be furious with the amnesty as they can no longer be legally sold so the man whose business was shut down got paid off with no penalty.
