It's interesting to note how little those that must be claiming to be politically biased have to say on current events.

They seem very afraid to post their own considered views, but I guess that fear is because they show their ignorance on the rare occasions that they try.

It's quite sad that they spend their days and nights peering in here, and adding nothing.

If we can't afford to keep pensioners warm, and Starmer claimed he would protect the winter payments, should we be spaffing nearly £12 billion of foreign climate aid, which will no doubt be used for measures that are liable to be at best ineffectual for their stated aim?

Feeding the crocodile hoping it eats you last never tends to end well.

Looking on the map, the most far right city in the UK is Norwich. The most far right town is Lowestoft.

The last Tory councillor lost his seat in 2022 when Labour leader Daren Hale blamed the Tories for the Lib Dems taking control of the Council despite the Tory losing his seat to them.

The last Tory MP in Hull was Michael Coulson who lost his North Hull seat in 1964 to Henry Solomons. Hull had Tory MPs regularly before 1945.

To be commenting on how frightful Shoezone is we must assume that you have been in one.

I reckon it could have been a defence to claim it was just hero worship for flip flop Starmer. :emoticon-0100-smile

Not actually inside, no - but I did peer into one once and that was enough to form a judgement.

The foreign aid will go to his mates in high places, with the occasional well being dug.

Free stuff for pensioners is communism so he avoids it.

You should perhaps be a bit more specific about the General Election to which you refer.

If you look back to the 2005 General Election, Blair campaigned for re-election promising to restrict benefits to only those ‘asylum seekers’ that claimed asylum immediately upon arrival, which was about 2,000 a month at the time. Net immigration quadrupled between 1997 and 2010. When ten former Soviet Bloc countries joined the EU in 2004, Blair decided not to implement ‘transitional controls’ to stop people just coming here under EU freedom of movement. Those people were not asylum seekers, were mostly taking low paid jobs and they could just sign up for benefits because of EU law. The “progressive Left” wanted more immigrants. Anyone remember Gordon Brown’s “bigoted woman” moment when asked about immigration?

Nope - post I replied to referred to Kier Starmer - as far as I'm aware, he's only led Labour into one General Election - albeit a spectacularly successful one ...
