Is anyone keeping a tally of who has said very important things? It’s important. Can the site add some sort of chart at the top of the page?
Yes, you’re sarcastic and nonchalant. Noted. Thanks . I watched the debate . American politics has an influence in UK. You don’t need to trawl social media, the mainstream media gives enough coverage .
We’re not fully Americanised when it comes to politics but we’re progressing towards it. Yanks are about the cult of personality We support political parties like football teams
This thread is a dumpster fire of opinions and nonsense. Thanks for your stellar contributions to the second element .
It's all quite odd, as in America, because of the federal and local split, as well as the House set up and despite being very much a two party Country, the President probably has less control of the US than the PM has of the UK, but we have the advantage by having at least the perception of choice. In both Countries and elsewhere, pressure groups and other non-elected bodies probably have the most influence.
If you watch, him and his fellow ****wits get noisier whenever a conversation looks like it's liable to break out. Discussion terrifies them so they have to disrupt.
The influence of pressure groups / think tanks is growing in UK , which is worrying. We’re seeing Christian fundamentalists groups popularity growing in UK and it’s frightening assault on pro choice . Directly influenced by the Americans.
WEF for one . They have far too much influence. World politicians meeting and then having secret talks with billionaire busines people etc nothing sinister

Winning elections means being efficient with your votes rather than Corbyn’s strategy of appealing even more to places that will vote for you regardless while losing places you need to win. This isn’t a bad thing. Some sort of ranking system for voting would be nice but it’s really far down the list of priorities of things to fix.
if everybody is really equal and everybody has a voice, and every vote counts, the only thing that should matter is total votes nationally, thats a fair system the set up we have is obviously designed to give the upper class the biggest say
Yes it was designed with that in mind probably. It’s an archaic system, hence I’d prefer some sort of transferable vote system. I believe we had a referendum on this which means it should never be debated again or something. Nobody seemed to mind quite so much when Corbyn was getting 50,000 votes per seat.
