In London, the elected Mayor – Sadiq Khan, is the equivalent of the Police and Crime Commissioner and is responsible for the totality of policing in the capital (outside of the City of London)

 

Increase stop & search targeting the areas & demographic of the majority of knife criminals.

Mandatory 5 year sentences for anyone carrying a knife within reason .

Tradesmen with Stanley knives clearly not in possession as a weapon.

Most people caught with blades are not given custodial sentences & they know that the Met won't stop them because they will end up getting fired for racial profiling .

If the prisons are too full release non violent criminals & drug offenders to make room for the rapists & murderers .

The Mayor is also the Head of TFL when it bankrupts due to his policies & has to beg money from the Government/Us to prop it up it's his responsibility.

He ran on a policy to end stop & search & violent crime has skyrocketed under his leadership.

He could target knife crime & perhaps defund his hate crime hub to free up police targeting hurty words on Twitter .
