Weird that because thousands of farmers around Europe are blaming the EU for putting them on the bread line. No tax relief on agricultural diesel anymore No use of pesticides so crop yields are down (now under review) Forced to leave one field fallow each year soon (good for the field but a further reduction in yield) Culling large ammounts of livestock because they burp Allowing vast quantities of wheat and grain in from Ukrain with no import duty so much cheaper than EU farmers can produce And to top it all off no EU subsidies have been paid to farmers for a while. Other than that they have nothing to complain about, great to be out of that **** isn't it?
Interestingly, the small scale eco friendly farmers producing high quality food, are subsidised by the CAP, and guaranteed a fair price for their produce. The mammoth agri-businesses polluting rivers and raping the earth, want the freedom keep doing that even though it is neither economically nor ecologically viable to do so.
