They are not trying to protect anything, they've been hell bent on trouble for weeks - you only have to look across social media and see right wing accounts trying to stir trouble. From what I saw of events today, they passed off peacefully until Tommy Robinson and other right wing mobs turned up. It's embarrassing. I can't stand the left but I despise the far right even more, the cops should have been kettling them on the next train back out of London the ****wits.
