That's the only 2 Lefty Loony Labour governments in my lifetime and they were every bit as ****ing useless as this pile of ****fuck criminal Tories so maybe you should try doing a bit of research? Perhaps you should just stick to Dame Beer Korma's biological facts
Why do you think most lefties believe it's only older people that vote Tory and they will all be dead soon . They could well be right because it's only older people who have lived under (and remember well) Labour control. Why have the unions suddenly come to the fore after years of silence (the last great rising was the miners strike), remember the chant "the miners united will never be defeated", tell me who divided them (quick clue, it wasn't Thatcher) The Unions have come out of the woodwork now because they see a Government under pressure after the last 5 years and a weak pliable opposition they could control if they help them into power. Be very wary about what you wish for, there are reasons us oldies who grew up in poor blue collar families are now voting Tory and it has a lot more to do with "lived experience" than senility.
Mostly because they reaped the rewards of being lucky enough to be born when they were and attempt to pull the drawbridge up on younger generations. That is slowly changing as fewer and fewer people can afford to own their own home or just have what was previously just a reasonable standard of living. What was so terrible about the Blair years in your lived experience?
Reap the rewards? Oh aye, them blackouts, three day weeks etc were super. Have a watch of boys from the blackstuff, which is pretty much a documentary, or think about the premise behind Auf Wiedersehn Pet. Mortgage rates well into double figures too. Rewards my ****ing arse you clueless ****. I've more than earned what I've got, and my kids and others from their generation are doing the same and taking responsibility for their own situations.
Then to remind you, the Conservatives took over a an economically sound country in 1970 and handed Labour a ****ing basket case four years later of rampant inflation, 3 day weeks and power rationing. Oh, and Reg Maudling left a note in the Exchequer for his Labour counterpart saying the country was broke, so "Good luck Cock".
Absolute bullshit. When and where i grew up the vast majority of people never had any hope at all of owning their own homes yet years after the area was torn down many were given just that chance by the Tory's when they sold council houses to long standing residents. Now all my kids (3) have bought their own homes and their friends have done the same even the single ones. That said, they all work so maybe that has a bearing on it.
It was a very sarcastic note to depict the fact that friends of Labour (the unions) had ****ed it all up.
It's quite sad to see that his own parents who presumably benefited from all this good stuff you, I and many others missed out on, don't seem willing to share that good fortune with him.
Living standards are falling, incomes are falling in real terms and life expectancy is going down. Less than half of people in their early 30s are homeowners so despite your no doubt very important personal experience that’s not the reality for most people. I’m lucky that I earn decent money and don’t have to worry if an unexpected bill comes in. I’d just like more people to have that luxury.
Any idea how many of them are living in "trendy" expensive city centre apartments (flats) paying extortionate rents? I only ask this because a few (about 6) of my lads mates went this way at first then realised they were throwing money away instead of building a future.
There's a delicious irony there, as quite a few of the lefty posters in safespace whose arse he was trying to crawl up, boasted about their property rental portfolios.
Renting is getting rapidly more expensive just about everywhere. It’s another reason increasingly few people can get on the ladder to get a mortgage less than what they’re paying in rent. It’s a ****ty cycle, especially with interest rates set to rise yet again despite Rishi’s big pledge on inflation.
Ohh i agree, like i said some of my lad's mates went that way and were paying around £750 to £800 per month in rent whilst those who bought were paying an average of £500 per month in mortgage. You still have to save the deposit first though obviously.
TBF it's not the Governments call to raise interest rates, it's the BoE. For some reason this is thought of as the best way to control inflation, now i would never pretend to be an economist so can only guess that the theory behind this is if you stop/short people spending then prices will have to drop across the board to entice them back.
In theory people are tempted to spend less and save more. In reality they have **** all to save no matter the interest rate and less so once their mortgages have to be renewed and the cost of basic essentials goes up by more than their income. It’s sixth form economics that worked pretty well for a while. It’s not fit for the situation we’re in now IMO. And yes, the BOE deserve their share of the flak for that.
