Its very interesting that several midfield teams are finding magic bullets to vault themselves up the order. Aston Martin over the winter, McLaren and Williams now. If only Ferrari or Mercedes could make such a step
they all were kind of copying anyway so just copy enough to get closer. Ferrari is extremely stubbornly sticking to their car designsndn are going nowhere. going to actually be swallowed by the pack. Aston are showing the usual mid tier team with good start also getting swallowed as they can't keep up with developments.
A lot would like to see Danny back in a car. Unfortunately his performance v Lando at Mclaren was lacking. Can he deliver? He was better than Ocon who outscored Alonso many times. He was better than Vettel and kept the child at bay although that child has matured since then. Really don't understand how he failed to deliver at Mclaren. I know he struggled with the brakes. He is doing three days testing at Silverstone I believe, be interesting to see if he is allowed to properly audition. Perez, I don't understand, his performance has crumbled. I have to think there was some sharing of data that Verstappen objected too.
I do agree, just wishful thinking on my part. They will have data to compare and may see something of interest in that data. I am not holding out much hope.
its a very big ask for any old driver to step into an f1 car after being out of it for a while and be anywhere near. we have seen a few come in and be a second off just by virtue of the fitness or whatever.
Hopefully it makes this race interesting, this season is shaping up as the most boring I can remember, as bad as the 2nd half of '12
Ferrari in for hards with all the soft tyres looking like they'll last half distance. Is it the standard Ferrari strategy **** up?
