Extra kerb going in for T14, where they were kicking up dust last weekend: please log in to view this image
You have to wonder how much Kimi's wing contributed to shredding those worn tyres in the last few laps.
Believe there's a strong chance it concludes tomorrow. Curious what happens if they rule against RP, can they get new brakes on the car by this weekend? And if they can, is that not admitting they knew the part was illegal and had a backup?
If they didn't have a backup plan they would look so stupid. Although it's F1 it's still a business so you always need backup plans no matter what you think the likely possibilities are.
Perez can race this weekend if he tests negative as the rule when went into quarantine was 7 days . Not sure I agree with that , but hey ho . Both the FIA and F1 said the 10 day rule should apply .
He's tested positive, Hulk gets another go. Possibly puts Perez racing in Spain in doubt too. I wonder if we're going to see a rush from teams to make sure they have a good reserve driver. If you can easily lose a driver for 3 races, you absolutely need a decent replacement. McLaren have done a seat fitting for Di Resta - can't help but feel there's better options?
Early drama this week. The Racing Point car has been judged to be illegal. No DSQ though, puzzlingly, just a 15 point deduction. No idea what happens when Racing Point inevitably have to run an illegal car again this weekend.
Illegal engine all season - confidential agreement Illegal brake ducts for 4 races - partial points loss Dodgy brake bias - all points lost from race Is it the longer you get away with it the lighter the punishment?
