Realllly... Vettel has a car that is nearly one second quicker than Lewis's and Jenson's.... If they were given the same car as Vettel they would be able to beat him and match him. As for footy I might agree with you there considering flops like Euro 2008 and South Africa 2010.
Well that proves my last point then that it's the car doing most of the work therefore detracting from the achievements of the drivers themselves however many championships they win. And for that reason they'll never be in the same bracket as sportsman that do it all themselves.

I think you're doing half of those players a disservice. 99.9% of the world's footballers wouldn't get into the Barca team, it doesn't make them bad players though! If you look at the talent pool England have got and compare it to other countries, then I'd say they're only behind Argentina, Brazil, France, Germany and Spain in terms of talent to pick from. I don't feel England players are overrated individually, I think they're rated fairly, they might be overrated as a collective unit but indivdually they're up there with any other nation in terms of talent.
Yes, but that's the problem though isn't it? You shouldn't be behind them. At the very least you should be level with Germany and France yet they've won more major international tournaments than England. Germany and England are similar in terms of population yet they've won both the World Cup and European Championships three times. And the last time you played them with your so-called 'golden generation' they hammered you 4-1. I'm not having a go at English players per se. Scottish players are mostly ****e so we've nothing to shout about but so many English players are over-rated.
I agree that England should be closer to Germany and France, but the problem is for whatever reason the premier league has developed a huge audience while the Bundesliga and Ligue 1 haven't quite caught the imagination of people outside Germany and France, respectively. That means that there's a lot less money circulating around and that there is less pressure on the coaches to get results, meaning they'll be less apprehensive to chuck a young player into the first team. In the Premier League it's a lot harder to do that, the only managers that can afford to do that in the Premier league are one who have already cemented their status as club legends like Dalglish, Wenger and Ferguson. For example, the lack of job security at Chelsea undermines their whole youth policy, as a manager wouldn't dare throwing a youngster into the first team incase he costs Chelsea the game and the manager his job. I agree that many English players are overrated, but I don't feel they're the main players in the team, I think it's more the people who don't get called up to the squad. Adam Johnson, Aaron Lennon, Ledley King, Scott Parker, Matt Jarvis, Kevin Davies etc. Their abilities get overexaggerated just so they can criticise the manager for not picking them in the squad.
