It was not the fact that Ron was backing a black driver but it was that Lewis was promoting the idea that he was giving Ron the opportunity to put the first Black person in a car. I realise that he and many many others have wrongly suffered due to stupid people thinking they were different to white people so really he was just balancing things by using his colour as an advantage for once. Maybe you are right and I don't understand racism. I really do believe we are all equal and should be treated the same. Thanks for the insight into my posting. I am more than happy to be educated, that is not a dig but a true statement, thanks.
Crock of ****, Ecclestone put a black guy in an F1 car before Lewis was even born, Willy T Ribbs, and I very much doubt Lewis, at aged 10, was using his colour to promote himself , or that Ron Dennis would have listened even if he did, I don;t thin RD cares about things like that, just on whther the person can do the job. No doubt in the future the story will be Lewis saw Ron Dennis, went up to him and started reciting Martin Luther King's" I have a dream' speech, whilst all around him black people were being beaten by white racing drivers.
Historically you are correct. Yesterday sky broadcast an interview between Lewis and Martin Brundall (I think it was Martin) and Lewis said that his dream was to be in F1 and speaking to Ron he said ron could put first black driver in f1car! Unless I drempt that but I am sure that's what he said, not word for word. I was very surprised.
If Max can avoid going backwards at the start on those Hards he could stand a chance of at least crossing the Mercedes paths.
Think that’s damning him with faint praise. Leclerc manhandling a tractor into a top four spot, for the second time in a week, would be more accurate.
Max is now second in the championship, just think where we'd be if he'd not retired in Austria. A race he may have even won.
How I have missed 2 stop races. Can we have softer tyres every race Pirelli? That was so much more entertaining than the first race.
Good recovery from Albon, but still needs a good weekend. I was talking about the defending, though the replay showed he moved before Lewis, rather than after.
Nice to have a race again where the win wasn't in the bag from the first corner. Brilliant strat by RBR, well executed by Max, deserved win. Interesting seeing the mercs vulnerable too. Don't get to see that often. Maybe we can actually get a title race brewing over the next few races.
