It was McCallum. Great touch indeed. Really good turn and well placed shot by Placheta who may just be making a case for playing up front if needed. Wagner mentioned that possibility on Saturday.
Would scare anyone with his pace... should he actually use it. Im yet to see him do more than a fast jog. You can see he is fast, but iv never seen him run like he is actually trying lol
270 mins without conceding away from home. First NCFC clean sheet for Long Seemingly no injuries Positive update on Sargent to end the night on a high please!
Some very positive aspects there in the play of Placheta (my MotM), Fisher, McCallum and Forshaw, who looked like he could be the calming and influencial DM we've been hoping for.
Pinkun player ratings: Long 7, Fisher 7, Duffy 8, Omobamidele 7, McCallum 7, Nunez 6, Sara 5, Springett 6, Gibbs 6, Placheta 8, Idah 6. Subs: Barnes 5, Stacey 6, Giannoulis 5, Forshaw 5, Fassnacht 5. And on Placheta: "The other side of the break, the visitors had the lead. Placheta had been at the heart of everything they'd created until that point, so it was no surprise to see him fire home on the spin after Sam McCallum had stretched to keep the ball in." Still a bit early to get carried away with Placheta's performances, but it's certainly encouraging. I don't think clever through balls and finding runners was ever his strength, which made him struggle under Farke, and was basically injured for the entirety of Smith's tenure, but maybe being encourage to run and cross is suiting him better.
Really annoying about Sargent, especially as it was because the goalkeeper basically rugby tackled him. Reminds me that we still have Borja Sainz to come back from injury
I still can't believe their GK wasn't even booked for it, he's made contact with Sargent from behind and hasn't touched the ball.
