1-0 half time and it’s a 45 minutes we’ve largely controlled. There was a nervy moment playing out the back where Kipre under hit a back pass, but Walton did brilliantly to save the Bristol shot.

They’ve been happy to sit back and play on the counter. We’re quite content and comfortable in possession. Definitely a bit more direct running and zip to our play with Cajuste, Nunez, and Burns in the starting eleven.

If we score a second, we should see this one out and go up to second in the table. We look an absolutely daunting prospect to play at home - stat on Sky said we’ve only lost two of the last 52 home games outside of the Premier League.

And although the commentators love talking, I’ve been impressed with the knowledge and insight from the commentator and co-commentator (think it’s Sam Parkin).

Thoroughly deserved 2-0 win for Town and we go marching on. Five wins out of the last six, counting the cup, and only one defeat in the last 11. We look a credible team for automatic promotion, although Coventry are back to getting wins. Maybe both teams will start pulling away, but we’ve got a lot of away trips coming up.

Lots of good performances today, including Jack Clarke with two goals. I’ll give praise to Azon up top. I’m not often his biggest fan, but he did brilliantly to assist Clarke for his second and made some great runs down the channels.

Onto the weekend!

I thought it was a pretty boring game not much in it until we went 2-0 up then we just closed the game out. 2 moments of real clinical quality.

Shout out to Burns, who doesnt look like that injury has affected him which is suprising for an older player who relies so much on his pace but particularly first half was a constant threat down that right hand side, the fullback has to constantly stay switched on because the moment he switches off Burns can get inbehind. I also thought Azon had a good game, he looks a similar style player to Al Hamidi but a real upgrade. Today he did all the things Hirst used to do regularly, run the channels, great movement, occupy defenders. He's very unfortunate not to have more goals this season, he's had a couple of poor misses but he's also come up against some outstanding goalkeeping, non more so than today. I thought given how he played today Hirst was going to come on and do well but again he comes on, looks cumbersome and plays the majority of the time with his back to goal.

I thought in general everyone else was pretty solid if not spectacular. Nunez a bit scrappy today and Kipre making a couple of mistakes (he's definitely got one in him). I thought Davis had one of his better games too both defensively and offensively.

Still think we need a playmaker and sometimes we need to get our players closer together, too many long balls on the floor which are either easily intercepted or hard to deal with.

Now in second and the scary thing is there's so much for us to improve.

Thought it was a decent performance today. Largely in control and once we got the 2nd goal, I felt we played within ourselves to keep energy in reserve for the weekend. Azon definitely had his best game as a starter but thought the whole team was decent against a good opponent

Been bloody busy at work, didn't even get to make a prediction but I would've gone 2-1 win. Don't expect this to be counted in the prediction league and I'm sad I've lost my 100% record of calling results.

Excellent result, Bristol played well in spells and have some good players. Burns was flying down the wing again, Clarke was superb and I have to admit, I prefer him to Jaden for overall contribution both attacking and defending.

Defense was solid aside from a few nervy moments and Walton was brilliant again. RB position well and truly sorted with Furlong, Davis defended and attacked well.

Matusiwa had a much better game than the weekend and Cajuste was good too.

Azon was a menace up front, keep this form up and Hirst will find himself on the bench. I think it's finally clicked with Ivan that if you want to get goals and assists in the Championship, staying on your feet and showing some strength is the way to do it.

Morsy came on earlier than expected but couldn't influence the match. Great reception from the crowd but I'm glad he's on the losing side, obviously.

Another three points, we're one of the top form teams and at this stage I really think we can win the league, Top 2 is certainly a minimum.

Men against boys last night -we played as bad as we did at Oxford-we look lost at present not sure what is happening at Bristol City but we are a shadow of the team of a few months ago. You looked decent last night much better than you're Ashton Gate performance.
Top two is there for you. Oh by the way Ipswich is my second favorite side going right back to the superb side many years ago when i was a school lad. Everybody wanted the Liverpools-Man UTD-Arsenals of the world to win me mine was Ipswich.

Completely agree in regards to Clarke. I find whilst Philogene works hard he's a bit like Delap was last season, really good player but I don't think he brings the best out in others around him, infact players like Davis are having to sacrifice a lot of things to support him.

I think Clarke has been similar to that in many aspects but the past few games I've started to see a bit more rounded performances from him, picking up pockets of space (where Broadhead used to) which allows space for Davis and knits the midfield and attack better, plus he's also releasing the ball quicker. Finishes were superb last night though.

I'd like to see Azon keep his place next match and I'd also like to see Cajuste compete with Nunez for the 10 role, I think he could be really effective there and add some additional muscle/strength to that area of the pitch.
