It was a ball that was easy to mess up. It too low to head, too high to volley and too tight for a touch ... ... all that was needed was to lose his marker, hit it first time and direct it in the corner. Job done.
Thank you xx Thank you @Fentonpell and @Hefty fullback too. So generous and very much appreciated. xx
We will have a big, big idea of exactly what’s what in 8 days time. 4 points plus and we are coasting. Having just seen the Posh goals Accrington were a disgrace at the back, 5 of the goals were a shambles. That pitch ain’t gonna help us but I fancy us to get something anywhere.
Was looking at the League table on the BBC yesterday morning and the 1st thing that struck me was that bar half a dozen sides who you would class as being in good form or bad form the rest are much of a muchness and that sums up the league this season. There is not one team averaging 2points a game which would be your target to claim an automatic spot at the start of the season and even at the bottom teams are averaging a point a game. This means that there are no easy games for anyone in this league. You can argue the salary cap you is making the league more competitive and I would rather play in a league that is competitive than one that is simply decided by how much money your owner is prepared to splash. The salary cap implementation needs some work but it has to be the future for sustainable football.
See... in a perverse way, I’m enjoying these wins. It’s a test of character for the players and they’re showing they can do the ugly side. Not great Footbal but I’m enjoying it!!
The last paragraph makes no sense. A salary cap is unfair as it’s not about the owners wealth. It’s about the club wealth. A salary cap punishes a club who can get 30000 fans when they’re only allowed to spend the same as a club with 3000.
I should have expanded this point - that the cap should be based upon a percentage of turnover of a club - this would include commercial revenues, gate receipts and profits on the disposals of players - this is why the implementation needs work but the principle of living within your means still applies.
If a club, such as ours, easily earns up to the salary cap there's no incentive to start other initiatives which may benefit the community or employ more people ... ... restricting businesses isn't the job of the EFL. If they stick to their proper aims they might make a ether job of it.
All focus has to be on Friday... Monday considerations only start about 22.30pm Friday until they are not even a thought. For the players at least... I am sure LJ has plans.
Based on their performance yesterday without looking at the table, you wouldn’t have known the difference in the first half, decent side I thought. If they weren’t raising their game then I feel sorry for them, because they don’t deserved to be where the table suggests.
