Over way too many years we have praised the Lansdowns for the way they developed the stadium and put their hands in their pockets when a financial boost was needed, but since those heady days of promises and hope they have let the supporters down by not even believing their own hype can take us forward anymore. The club will go up for sale in the next 2 years but if Steve L thinks that the punters will arrive in droves to buy a football club that is mired in confusion that is solely down to him and his less than useless son then I think he has a shock coming his way. We are a backwater club that rarely gets any kind of respect from anywhere and it seems we are not a destination of choice for anyone wanting success or support in achieving their individual goals. Listening is an often forgotten ingredient in success and clearly the people that matter have turned a deaf ear and blind eye to the clamour from the terraces for more than what they are getting. I truly think that we will do next to nothing during the summer break and will return for the start of the next campaign asking the same old questions as to why we continue to expect Premier League potential from below average players? Should the Lansdown family decide that the same dross will just be enough to keep us in the Championship then they could be in for an almighty shock with relegation staring us in the face as a result of their apathetic approach to running Bristol City. I forget how many opportunities to make the club more competitive during transfer windows have come and gone without a single player of note entering our gates and after all those years of neglect the club is stagnating and starting to smell of disinterest. The stadium is there and certainly the supporters are there but regrettably that is about all there is of note, and keeping an ex-player/manager who failed dismally in his latter position is a farce bordering on a pantomime. Looking around the leagues proves that success is there for the taking but only if you have the right personnel running the club and the full support of the ownership to do what is deemed necessary. Unfortunately we have none of the attributes required for success and I suspect all of the villains will still be doing the same nothings for as long as they want without retribution. My Bristol City heart is aching so badly that I want to cry when I see my club being run by uncaring idiots who wouldn't know success if it bit them on the arse.
