first off, let’s hope the weekends results are kind.... We next entertain a side under very poor management in Lee Johnson- doubt he’ll last much longer. Their from memory on a very poor run - not for the first time under that clown either. Next four away - Forest Boro Stoke and Qpr - which I think we’ll do well to get more than 4-12 maximum- all have miles better players than us. This game represents an opportunity for our first home win of the season. Issue I have is we need two goals a game to have a chance of a W - however go on I will predict a win. 2.1 town. Coyb. Massive game this.
Bristol City are three games without a win (at time of writing, as they play Leeds United later on today). That’s a poor run, but maybe not as bad as we were thinking / hoping. I agree this is a must win game, and offers a great chance to finally get that first home win of the season. Hopefully we will see a more attacking, technically proficient Ipswich side in mid-week, but with this current squad (and I’m including both Hurst and Mick players in this), we currently have a severe lack of quality. Like you Westy, I’m going for a narrow 2-1 win, don’t think we’ll keep a clean sheet and cannot see us scoring three goals.
This game and the Wigan fixture represent our best opportunities to collect three more points in 2018. Fail to win this one and we have to start to question whether we can get to 30 points, never mind 50. 2-1 Town.
I’ve always hated the idea of “a must win” game, all the best teams try to win all their games. It’s indicative that over the years we’ve come to view “not losing” as acceptable. Having said all that another draw or loss and we’re cut even further adrift. As to Wednesday my heart says narrow win but my head expects a draw.
Unfortunately this means they will come to Town angry and feeling very confident that they can end their losing streak.
It's revelation time, everyone suddenly knows exactly what they are doing, confident of passing to each other, sweet flowing forward movement, killer punches, oozing fresh confidence! 3-0 Town... Nope, I am on nothing!
We’ve had an extra days rest and they had to play about a 1/2 with 10 men. We’re not going to get many better chances to get a win. It’s a must for me
Greetings from the West Country. The majority of City fans think the same as you about Lee Johnson, or worse. But he isn't going anywhere - our owner loves Lee Johnson. We lost 8 on the bounce last season, a club record, and Lansdown would you believe extended LJ's contract. It's getting to the stage where more and more City fans hope we lose the next few games so we can get a new manager before the January window. PS - Lee Johnson has signed 43 players and spent over £40 odd million in under 3 years. Unheard of backing for a BCFC manager. I'll bet you guys would like some of that.
I'll be honest with you Redprintt - when Johnson came to you, i was a bit envious, i thought he could and would be be the next breakthrough manager. a couple of seasons down the line, i'm changing my tune. He's still very young though, and i'm pretty sure he's intelligent enough to learn from his mistakes. I knew you'd spent a lot, but didn't realise it was that much (but in fairness, i'm sure you've got a lot of that back from sales). Flint and Smith are big losses for you, and it seems you haven't replaced them adequately - a bit like us with Waghorn et al. Tomorrow will be a tense affair, neither would want to lose. I'm hoping you bottle it one more time and give us our first home win - it's gotta come sooner or later, and tomorrow seems our best chance on paper.
I live south Bristol near Whitchurch ( have all of life ) and been to the gate a good fifty times plus so feel I have a reasonable idea on things red. Do not rate Johnson- terrible player too. Big game both ways tonight!!
Same line up again hey - Lambert sure likes consistency! Pleased Bishop available. Welcome back Harrison. Dozzell not in the squad is interesting!!
1-0 up...... bottled it. 2-1 up....... bottled it. 4-3, we're gonna win 4-3??!?! F F S come on we need a W here.
