That was absolutely garbage we just did not play the game correctly from the start and to find we are playing nine men and struggled to score says it all.
Three points were great but the way we got them and the way the team played was poor.

How many did Matty Taylor score, he was on long enough to have notched one, top striker mind.

    Have we though?

I don't want to make out like everything's smiles and sunshines & there isn't any room for improvement, but I think people need to get a grip too. As long as we miss out on points when our play deserves better, I'll be fine with us picking them up when we maybe don't. I've said it before but as frustrating as our inconsistency is, it's better than being consistently bad.

I see the in-form Birmingham City not only failed to beat lowly Brentford, but also failed to score too. At least we did.
Derby couldn’t beat us, but they beat Norwich.
Reading and Sheffield Wednesday couldn’t beat Rotherham.
We knew they would probably park the bus - even before the sending offs.
    It’s a funny old game.....

I think one of the trickiest leagues out there, Norwich & Leeds & Forest lost, West brom only getting a point...No game is easy.....Positive 3 points away from relegation!!!

If he’s the answer, I would hate to see the question as I thought he was dire

To be fair, he's only just returning from injury, & during our good start to the season he put in some good performances.

I don't think he's ever likely to be a prolific scorer at this level, but let's not use him as a tool to undermine RR - I'm sure we'd all be delighted if he were playing well for us.

I'm sure we have all read the reports of the game but I could not care less , the team got 3 points today, have gone 7 games without defeat, 7 points from the play offs and are 11th in the table, we are half way through the season, there is nothing to moan about at the moment.

Well done all at Bristol City so far this season.

I meant the on field performances have been dire lately, apart from the game against Norwich were we performed really well, not disputing the results as they've been good lately and it'll be fantastic if it continues, it's just the 90 minutes of crap we sit through at the gate most weeks which is the most frustrating thing

I’m usually undermining or bantering with Red Robin, but I honestly don’t see what others see in Taylor. Plus in fairness he always seems to be returning from injury.

I think that maybe we have at times adopted a more direct approach, rather than try to outplay opponents, so I can understand it being less attractive to watch. Maybe we're adding strings to our bow, or trying to make the most from what we have...

I agree, Warnock never did it the pretty way....I think we are learning "how not to lose" in our approach to games....so far it's not been a bad thing and we are grinding out results!

I think the way we line up is more effective away from home and against teams who are more expansive than your Rotherham’s of the world. We’ve not been the most attractive recently but keeping a relative settled side and formation has made us difficult to beat and I take 1-0 wins any day of the week

3 points is 3 points , but was like watching paint dry,

I normally like Taylor , but can’t remember him touching the ball , would have rather seen Mo given a chance, tougher the new lad looked promising, had a few nice touches.

I do think he's been banging them in for the reserves...

Like most of you on this board I 'support' city but there are times when I wonder how many of you do! I was at Rotherham and watched the game they played against us. I was not there today but from what I have read it was a similar game. They were tough to break down and on another day may have snatched some points today as they could have done earlier this season. But they didn't today and we eventually got all three points. We are in the top half and in my view, from some distance, deserve to be. The negative posts do us no favours. Like all of you I would like us to be nearer the top but we are where we are. Can we all get behind the team for a while. Who knows where we may finish? As the father and friend of several Forest supporters I can tell you that I am happier than many of them tonight. Be careful of what you wish for!

At the end of the day it's 3 points and we move on to Stoke - where our high tempo game could give them problems

We all support City or we probably wouldn't be posting on this site and in the end we all want our team to thrive. The comments posted reflect our own personal opinion and when we see our team not quite meeting our expectations, despite several 5 year/pillar plans to better our lot, we have the right to question as to where all this management commitment has actually taken us. Ashton Gate has undergone a major upgrade but I can't honestly say that the product on the field has met the expectations of many based on performances over a full season.

On a positive note we are surviving quite well in probably the most competitive second tier sporting league anywhere in the world and yet I would like us to become a perennial contender. Trying to improve our squad given the budget limitations, and the almost out of this world transfer fees and salaries, is not just difficult but almost bloody impossible task and I can't truly see how Lee can tread that minefield and satisfy the likes of myself.

I know the comparison with Liverpool is somewhat off the mark but this season I truly believe that they will reach the heights that their supporters have wanted for a very long time and I watch a squad that will almost certainly take them there. I just haven't seen that in Bristol City.

    My view is this:
Because we had to sell 3 of our best 5 players it's turned into a transition year. Added to that the injury to Korey (one of my "best 5) plus the fact that Frank has not played a single minute, we are actually not doing too badly.
I think the squad does have more depth than last year, but lacks that "star quality".
To make a move on the play-offs - either this season or next - we need a top class forward and a playmaker (both of whom need to be better than what we have)

As Mike said we all have different opinions - which actually is one of the things that makes football enjoyable

Happy New Year to all City fans!
