Got a good bunch of fans on the Bristol Forum, normally the other teams fans take everything to seriously. I reckon it will be a high scoring affair, Bristol City 2:3 Hull City
[SUB][/SUB] Great mutual respect that day, I was drinking with a coach load of your lads in Bootsy Brogans in North Wembley(now a Tesco's unfortunately) and it was a great atmosphere. More surprising was that it continued after the game. Much respect to you lads for that day.
On the day i caught the train from Dorchester to Waterloo and to my delight on route a number of City fans got on and to my surprise some Hull fans, we had friendly banter to and from London, I wished them well in the future.... in my drunken stooper coming back I sat with a bunch of guys from Portland, one was Gerry Gow's son, and they said Gerry didn't want to go up that day, so I hope next time since Gerry has been shown appreciation by the club he'll be in the crowd cheering on his team
It was a great day out for both set of fans and what got me was the Bristol City fans on the coaches after the game, every fan was clapping the city fans. I have much respect for the team and the fans
I was gutted on the train back down to Bristol, the worst feeling I have experienced watching city for 30 plus years.
Rob we all were but I felt worse coming back home from Cardiff after Brighton, the worse Sunday night I've ever experienced....
Wembley was the worst feeling for me, still remember on the radio coming back it had everybody hurts on...... Bastards knew it suited us at the time
I could not go to the game gave my ticket to my step father. My little princess had her tonsils out the day before so was waiting to take her home got home just in time to see it on TV. But I agree Wiz the Hull game you could not predict, The Brighton game we should of won but just didn't turn up that day
DW was at fault for not playing lita, and the penalty what a joke.i was gutted but not getting to the prem was gutting,I really thought it was going to be our time,we were favourites every where and blue it.
I was not at Wembley for Hull City, only listening to the radio, I was obviously very disappointed. But at least we gave it a go on the day. Whereas the Brighton game at Cardiff was the most pathetic team selection, tactics and performance of any match with such importance that I can remember. Everyone around me came out muttering "If we'd lost 4-5, at least we would have tried to win it" And a footnote for our brethren at the Mem; Brighton were just as bad as City and who was their manager that day? None other than Mark Magoo!
It's funny but although they both beat us in finals,Hull and Brighton are two of the teams I respect most in our league... Edit.....Thanks Cider,I'd forgot that clown was the Brighton manager....
I think our back 4 had the 6 pints (each). This would go a long way to explain the keystone cops defending...
Sorry POB but Fontaine almost always plays like hes had 6-8 pints of Natch before the game we have been playing with a 3 man defence for so long I'm not sure how they will cope with having the extra player out there today.
