Gillingham
Hello and welcome to the all new and improved Match day Hub which is now the official place for Gillingham fans, I decided to update this so that you will know where to go and chat before and during the game. This is the first Match day hub for this season.
Just so you remember this is here to continue to replace the old match day thread and squad prediction thread which I used to run.

This is the thread for the upcoming game, I always make sure I post it days before the game to give you a chance to chat and discuss the line up for the game.
You can post your team predictions before the game, you may include the starting 11 plus the subs which you think will be in the team, no points awarded for your predictions it is just for fun, it allows you to start a healthy debate between each other about the team which we will play or what it should be.
If you wish you can post updates freely about the game and chat between yourselves, you are also free to talk about other games bizarre or not.
This is open to both Gillingham fans and also the opposition
After the match I will allow you all to create a summary on this thread and I will also provide extra details on the game if they are required or if I want to point anything out. You can talk about what was good about the game and what could have been better. During the game I will update the score and the team sheets as soon as they are available, also at the end I will add the table to this thread as it stands.

Finally you can choose the side which you want to see aswell as it may be totally different to what you think it will actually be, give me your opinions on what you think the season holds for us with the first league game just around the corner, if you are going to this game could you give us a detailed report after the game so we can see what the fans actually think as it is much better than newspaper talk.

I think the team will be

Nelson

Fish
Davies
Flanagan
Martin

Whelpdale
Lee
Payne
Dack

Kedwell
Burton

Subs
Forecast
Essam
Frampton
Jackman
Allen
Strevens
Birchall

This is what I think the team will be however I may be wrong, I would personally not play this side and I would play Jackman instead of Martin, Essam instead of Davies and Evans instead of Fish.

I hope we approach this game with the mind of "it's the final preseason game" go with our first team and just work on things in preparation to Bradford next week. Hope that makes sense.

I think we will start with;

Nelson

Fish
Flanagan
Essam
Martin

Whelpdale
Payne
Lee

Strevens

Burton
Kedwell

I doubt it will be 4-3-1-2, but im not sure if Strevens can play on the wing? if so then he may drop onto the right side and go with 4-4-2

Those of you going tonight, hope you enjoy the match. I will be checking the scores on teletext, hoping for a win and Keds on the scoresheet.

No-one's actually expecting anything other than a defeat here, right?

It's the League Cup. We WILL lose. 2 or 3 nil. But maybe a good thing in the long run.

Lol, season hasn't even started and already I'm waxing lyrical about the concept of "concentrating on the league"!

Frampton is doubtful, Martin, Payne and Burton are apparently all out. So therefore...

Nelson

Fish
Essam
Flanagan
Jackman

Whelpdale
Lee
Montrose
Allen
(diamond formation with Montrose holding and Whelps furthest forward)

Strevens
Kedwell

SUBS
Forecast
Davies
Evans
Dack
Webster
Brunt
Birchall

Or something like that...

I seem to remember this time last year, for the brighton game, someone found an internet link for a visual feed? I don't suppose anyone knows of another one for the Bristol game?

Was quite a scrappy way to get the penalty. Kedwell free kick just outside the box, spilled by Gerken then bit of a fracas occurred before Liam Fontained handled the ball and ref pointed straight to spot.
