I was out and missed the 1st half. But listened on TalkSPORT2, and Chris Iwelumo was very critical of our reluctance to put the ball in the box when in good positions, yet we chose to pass back… It shows the gulf between top 3rd Championship sides, and bottom 3rd PL sides.
To be fair, most sides are, look at Leicester and Southampton this season, or Sheff Utd and Burnley last season. The gap is too big.
Far better second half-just require some strikers for a second half push of the season. We are powder puff up front.
I (thankfully) missed the first 30 minutes. Tuned in just as Twine scored. Saw bits of the second half - unlucky with the one that hit the bar. Better second half but we gave ourselves a mountain to climb shipping 2 goals in 20 minutes.
I've read we need 2 or 3 to make us a good side. No, at least 11, the gap is massive. We are absolutely miles away and with the advantage relegated Prem sides enjoy we should just forget any chance of ever achieving Premiership status. Ok we didn't lose the 2nd half but we didn't come to life or even try to make a game of it till the last 5 minutes........or did Wolves just play out time.
Is it the strikers though, Mayulu had ZERO to work with, even the commentators said as much. I’ve said before, our midfield is too similar, and clearly not creative enough. I’ve been critical of Fally, but today I felt sorry for him, and then Wells, absolutely nothing to work with. If they were missing chances left, right and centre then they can be blamed, but they don’t, how may times in the last 10 minutes did we have the ball in the final third, but went backwards rather than load a ball into the box. It’s a cup game ffs, no GD to worry about, we just didn’t go for it.
It seems so, must be a manger thing, as I felt Cotts and Nige were as well, more so Cotts to be fair.
I had probs with FAWA.... didnt get started till after 1230 0-2 then couldnt keep watching as it was all over the place .. when finally it settled down it was 51 mins and 1 -2 watched till 88 mins then switched off more important things to do! my impression was we played quite open but they put 2 or more players on our "player with the ball" and broke forward quicker! watched WYCOMBE LAST NIGHT TO SEE kone .. didnt feature much came on as a late sub got maybe 4 or 5 touch's...
