Odd interview wasn’t it?, Atkinson should have played, their first goal was down to king, a proper CH would have cleared that, they obviously realised and targeted him in the air. It’s all very well saying it’s about trust, but I’m afraid if you play a CM in defence don’t be surprised when we lose. Does anyone know what Atkinson has done to be on the naughty step?

It comes back to non football people making decisions on what the club needs as a Manager
These decisions have either been unwise, rushed, the cheap option, or have taken too long
But the outcome has largely been the same
Conversely it would also seem that interference and making decisions behind managers backs was the norm, even if it isn’t now
IMHO the football side of BCFC is badly run and organised and has been for decades
Clubs of our size regularly have trips to and from the top flight
We have trips to and from L1

In fairness we all thought, well most anyway, NP was a good appointment, he’s certainly a football man, with lots of experience.

if he has said again its about players that he trusts; then i can only imagine that a good proportion of the squad must be asking the same question of him..

Today just highlighted our frailties defensively which have been apparent all season and beyond. After the Rotherham game (whom imo were poor) we were looking for back to back wins.. but have to be honest, I was never confident of seeing it.. we are just not consistent in our setup, any side with a bit of quality know how to pick us off, weaknesses are there for all to see… apart from Nige & co.. it’s mind boggling how long this has been going on yet not been addressed.. I think NP is on thin ice even if most of us want him to stay, this shambolic defence producing zero points can’t continue for much longer..

That was absolutely **** today-those players apart from wells and Pring were shocking.
Nige King is not a centre half.
What is.wrong with Kalas something not right and Atkinson and Klose would be ahead of King at centre half.
That is down to you as you pick the team.
Today we played an absolute **** team in Stoke and we lost-that is not acceptable.
Don’t mind losing if the players give their all but Stoke were **** and we lost to them.
    Not acceptable.

It could be lower again if this ****show of a defence doesn’t get sorted. We will remain firmly in the bottom third until that happens.

…. Except we’ve played more games than the teams below us and we’ve now got one less game to turn it around.

SPOT ON interesting bit is that to get to top 6 based on points averaged so far by teams having played 23 games has dropped to below 70! This is because of the results of teams outside top 6 having played better [ more points ] than teams that were in 5th or 6th a few games ago relegation! well almost bottom team WBA now won 5 on trot 3 more could see them top 6 !
There are many variations on what fans see as "right" in their eyes .. I disregard GD until after a certain nunber of games are left! and also work on what other teams do! simply just saying its our results is most important, is not enough really. Should 2 teams be fending off the 3rd spot for relegation and you are 2 pts closer than the other then you depend on the other teams results being worst than you!

Tough games coming up but none of them are ever easy
    WBA at home
    Millwall away
    Coventry away
    Birmingham Home

and Swansea at home in the cup on 8/1

then home to Blackburn and away to Huddersfield at the end of January

Our next 2 games are vital in our season with a resurgent WBA at Ashton Gate followed by a difficult trip to Millwall who are never easy opponents. Despite all of the positivity from NP we are still a very poor team that are in a difficult place, both in the league and the self belief department, and unless the entire bunch wake up and smell the roses the next odour could be some messy stuff called ****e. Are we having issues between the boss and some players because I find it extremely odd that certain players seem to be either in Nigel's doghouse or not on his team sheets. The defensive side of our game has been shambolic for years and this season yet again constantly highlights our deficiencies when we basically give the game and points to our opponents. This situation has been our undoing at home, when we should hold the advantage, and without a good record on your home turf you can't expect anything else but concern from the supporters. Although it is something we don't want I feel that Nigel won't take us any further than where we are right now, and I base that on his interviews where he coughs up the same old stuff, none of which have given fruitful changes to our fortunes. How on earth a manager and former defensive player cannot sort out where we are failing at the back just beggars belief. It would be interesting to know what's on Lansdown's wish list for Christmas and the New Year.

Looking at those fixtures and our inconsistent form, I think we're in the sh!t......if we don't pick up 4 points or more NP could be toast & so could our championship status..

Hard to see where 4 points (or any in fact…)come from on all those teams current form and ours…. That said, the Championship, is highly unpredictable this season.
