I'm not happy with a loss but flu affected, injuries to key defenders, played a team in 3rd place and we deserved more, they are still up there in my opinion, hold your heads up high fellas.
I will totally agree that we looked good out there tonight, if only for the first 45 minutes, but feeling good doesn't get us any points, yet again. We bossed the game up until half-time and I'm sure for many us it brought back similar memories from games gone by. The weather, referee, injuries, flu bugs and now suspensions, thanks to Tanner, happen throughout the years and seasons and still our luck, or bad depending on your point of view, gets us absolutely nowhere. I have a feeling that what we saw during our last 2 home games is what we can expect for the remainder of 2022, so can we look forward to something different in 2023? The jury is well and truly out for me.
We have to find ways to win points, we aren’t always going to play well, tonight we did, but we’re missing a winning mentality, a win at all costs attitude. We’ve completed against all the top sides this season, which is encouraging, but only beaten Blackburn.,
Just watched the highlights and seems we were desperately unlucky not to get something from the game. How Alex Scott is still playing for us I don't know. I know I shouldn't say it but something from way back in my time - I loved Tanner's tackle.
Scott totally enhanced his reputation last night. Any scouts watching from PL clubs will be sharpening their pencils ahead of Jan.
Imo Scott is a season or two away from being a decent Premiership player.. he was immense for us last night
Penalty all day long. The better football side by a mile on the night-however the reason they are fourth is they score from one chance all night-us we had many chances however unable to hit the net. After watching the last two games playing 4th and 5th in the league it just shows how poor it is. Any team that can put a run together could be in with a chance.Us we are so inconsistent and that is going to be our downfall come the seasons end.
it was for me as well, but I agree with Onefor, he needs another season at least before making the leap. He also needs to reduce the amount of yellow cards he picks up, 7 already this season. Top clubs will see that as a temperament issue
A disappointing result, but a bit encouraging that we were decent on the night and could have got something from the game, especially with so much possession and so many attempts on goal. But behind us the table is really squeezing up and we're only 1 defeat from being in the bottom 3. And I can't see the likes of WBA, Middlesbrough or Coventry finishing below us come May. And we've also played more games than most other teams. Tough games at 'Boro and at home to Watford next with Lincoln in the LC in between.
First time I've seen that and it's ****ing disgraceful, from Norwoods's point of view and the officials!! Can the League do something retrospectively, because that could have been a career ending foul. To get away with nothing just about sums up the problems teams face with refs/linespeople!!
Lots of players have immense technical ability, eg Palmer. Something you can't put a finger on makes rhe likes of Scott stand out. Yes top clubs will note his yellow cards but they'll also calm him down without detriment to his overall game. More of a concern for me about Scott is the way he tackles, he's often on the stretch and open for injury. But what a player.
You’re right RP. He has to be a bit careful imo.. bit like Semenyo last season, was on fire but since his come back from injury, seems to have lost that 10% that made him so sharp.. I still think we are one or two quality players away from being a side that could make that leap.. problem is, I’ve been saying that for about 6 years now!!
Technically it was, but as NP said it was badly defended.. Another mistake that’s costing our season.. also, had we put half the decent chances we had, we win the game..
I believe the league can go back and look at the awful tackle on Williams and dish out punishment. Perhaps just because we are Bristol City nothing will be done but I can remember several seasons ago when an incident by a City player (Diedhou?) got retroactive punishment.
