After watching what I considered to be a great first half from City it was evident to anyone watching that our goal scoring prowess is very limited at best but diabolical at worst. The QPR effort in the first 45 was appalling but I had a feeling that they would be stronger in the second half and despite a brilliant free kick from Twine with his first kick of the ball they were still fairly weak and it was an absolute howler from Max O'Leary gave our opponents a chance at all 3 points. At times today were exciting and very watchable and the thought of more goals for City was not to come and we ended to a smattering of boos around Ashton Gate. We will never get anywhere by constantly having to remould our squad because if you look back over the years we have been down this road way too many times and never arrived at the chosen destination, which has to be at least a play-off position. Today was about as perfect an example of what not to be if you really want to challenge for the top six and regrettably we continue to throw away valuable points.
I agree but with the amount of possession and chances, we should have won easily.. It took a blinder of a free kick, just to get a lead
There has been no killer football at Ashton Gate for decades and to get what you want you first have to know what you want. The money we spent on Twine, Armstrong, Mayulu was thrown away with little or no possibility of any return on a large investment for us. I don't see us having any choice but to stay away from the January clearance sales due to lack of money, or at least that's what I have to expect. Wasting money has never been my favourite sport but Bristol City do it in abundance without seeing results improve and today did go someway to proving how badly we choose new players so I reckon whoever was responsible for purchase the three most targeted offenders should be looking for a new job. Too many people making wrong decisions all too constantly has been one of our issues and I suspect the culprits are almost certainly lifetime City employees.
I had to step away from my phone and keyboard after watching that. Now I’ve more or less calmed down. That was a masterclass of how to totally smash an opponent to pieces and come away with 1 point. Frustrated doesn’t get close to what I feel right now. Max - WTAF? On a reflective note; did you know it is actually scientifically and mathematically possible to move 2 objects towards each other for infinity without them ever touching? You simply move one half the remaining distance each move - forever. That’s like City; we have proved that we can infinitely dominate a side and still not win.
Just wondered what everybody would have said had Max taken one for the team (red) and brought him down?
1For..... or just wondered if he'd stayed in his box. It's all hindsight now, but wow that was 1 hell of a mistake.
Its possible that far from goal it would be yellow for stopping a promising attack, but what the **** is that defending set up for a corner when 1-0 up? City were losing the foot race for the cleared ball.
Sorry to be bearer of sad tidings but with the ownership, management and players we have, we will only ever be also rans Look at the table, and the points difference and the teams above us, the season is already over for us Sad But true
Strikers are our problem. Have we progressed on last season No. Pretty football with no end product. Needs addressing in Jan we have no firepower. QPR were the worst side to come to Ashton Gate and we cannot score in open play. Whoever brought those players in need sacking.
I thought he was going to take him out but to be fair that would have been even worse in my book-three game ban.
I'd love to see Max on the bench.........but it isn't going to happen.....we don't have another keeper. Tinnion, back of the class you fool.
There is someone back on the farm who is taking the paying public for idiotic plonkers. Our leaders are only capable of telling porkies regarding the ambition of the club because we are no further ahead than when Gary Johnson was in charge and like Angelic I'm starting to get real cross at the team that I have supported for over 65 years. Bristol City have virtually no ambition or idea of what they want to be if ever they grow up and this constant shots in the foot are very painful. Why oh why have we not brought in an experienced goalie because Max is starting to show that he is only League One standard which he has been for enough time that he needs to go. Nice football is all very well and good and it's nice to see a slightly more entertaining style of play under Liam Manning but the results and attitude remain the same which are those of a no-hoper barely mid-table football club. Nothing will change until at least 2 or 3 senior management are shown the door and replaced by owners/ management/ coaches who know what they want and how to get it whereas this lot are lost in a fog of their own making.
