Wow that was hard work,, just got through.. it's been a very good season.. well done Liam and the team.. next up play offs
WOW. We have finally made it and it was a good job I got out the Vaseline at half-time to get rid of the squeak. Well done to all at Bristol City for this outcome and now we face the lottery that is the play-offs where anyone can win on any day and let's hope our fighting spirit starts at the kick-off and not 69 minutes as it was today. I think there is no chance of us being declared favourites against a very good Sheffield United who are 22 points ahead of us in the final league table. If there is one disappointment for me on this season it would be our transfer add-ons who gave us very little of anything and our horrendous lack of scoring prowess. The next 2 matches are going to be a test of our player's commitment and we will need all of our guns firing on all cylinders to get us to Wembley, rather like the year we played Crystal Palace and got to Wembley with style which unfortunately didn't happen in the final. Now we have a chance at setting a new path for Bristol City and let's hope the players realize quite what they are facing which could be 45,000 City supporters at the National stadium at Wembley. Keep everything crossed and keep the Vaseline close by to grease the wheels. Thank-you to you all for a magic day that we hope gets us to Wembley. Go get it City.
We are Bristol City and that's the way we play unfortunately wings. The main thing is we are in the play-offs for the first time in 17 years and that statistic alone makes today a dream come true, no matter where we go from here. Getting to the post-season is difficult in the Championship, as we all know very well, especially when you are fighting against big money for those relegated downwards to the 2nd tier. I would be interested to know what the lowest points total is for 6th spot in the Championship because the total between the top two and us is dramatic to say the least. The Premiership would be precious for us all but do we truly have the infrastructure and management to keep us there for more than season or find a better way forward?
A big opportunity missed today, a win and we would have played Sunderland, who have lost 5 on the trot, nobody will fear them in the play-offs.
That was a hard watch-we in the playoffs but how the hell we are baffles me. God we need a performance in the next two games. Massive improvement required.
Hopefully now we’re there we can relax a bit, today was very nervy. Now we’re the underdog, we can relax and just go for it.
To be honest I think we would have preferred Sunderland as they have been on a bad run but the play-offs are a lottery at best and anyone can win. Wilder has built a good team at Sheff Utd but every team can be beaten on the day and as dead cert underdogs we should just enjoy the ride and wear the shirt with the respect it deserves. On form the side that should go up is Sheff Utd without a doubt, especially when you look at our sorry last 3 games where we struggled at times and capitulated at others. However here we are in the strange land of post-season play, and that is well worthy of special note, hoping we can find a road to Wembley. The next 10 days are going to be heady so keep your cool and cheer the lads to the seemingly impossible outcome.
The performance over the last 3/4 games has been not great however the table measures success over the whole season so we are where we deserve to be. City weren’t the only team to bottle it ( hi Tommy ). A clean slate now and we go again with nothing to lose COYR
Only watched the first minutes of the 2nd half and 2 PNE corners. O'leary pushed, and punched the ball way. Pity he needed a halftime rollicking to put things right.
Just watched the highlights, and sorry to say Redprintt, the fault with the first goal was all on Dickie. Any keeper is entitled to expect better from a defender. For balance, I think Zak could have done better for the exons goal, but he was left marking 2 men, thanks to Yu
Oh dear Supcon you and few others think it's ok for a ball to drop 3 yards from goal and you blame a CH Incredible......and to see O'leary just sat on his ass.....unbelievable. Weak and inept doesn't come close.
