We didn’t go for Dembele because we went for Yu.

We do need to add some goals to our game, especially from midfield.
Need more from Knight, Memheti and Twine to take some pressure of the striker(s).
Yu looked good when he came on, glad he took Williams off, he always has a foul at the wrong time and a booking in him. Some great touch and connecting up the play from Nakhi when he came on. I thought Anis caused problems, but some wayward finishing. All in all a good performance and 3 points.

Once Williams taken off and replaced by Yu, we looked much better balanced and won the second half 2-0, my question to LM is why didn’t he start with this lineup? , the rest of us could see that’s what was needed, why couldn’t he?.

    Only saw the 2nd half.
They missed from 4yards, phew, almost 2-0.
From what I saw Roberts seemed to be our out ball and did well for the penalty. Yu did more in 45 minutes than the useless Mehmeti has done in 45 games.
By far the better side, but we don't look like we have any system/plan/idea up top.
It also seems to me LM doesn't know his best team.

Yep put players in the rightful positions and hey bisto-Twine in the 10-Bird back where he should be-YU changed the game.
Good job their 9 missed the open goal otherwise 2-0 game over.
Three points we needed but Manning has to lot to do to convince me he is the upgrade we were promised.

Just listened to LM on RB concerning the first half formation in relation to Twine, he gave some convoluted answer about Off the ball and on the ball. If he can’t see the difference it made in the second half I worry about him I really do. Either that or he’s trying to make excuses, which is also not a good look.

Unbeaten at home in 8 games but doubts remain
Away from home we are easy pickings
I know it’s often fine margins but even so I remain unconvinced by LM and the flannel

Me I would go Pring and Roberts in front of him instead of Mehmeti. Roberts always looking for the pass, and can cover Pring on overlaps

Thought Mehmeti was good today, had a few shots on target and generally looked dangerous. Pring hasn’t played well this season or towards the end of last either, didn’t he have an operation?, he’s not looked quite right, maybe that’s why?

Pring needs someone who can help defensively, which we’ve not had for a while on the left.

Their goal had a huge element of luck in it - the deflection slowed the ball down perfectly for their lad to pick his spot. Even I couldn’t fail to miss with it on a plate like that.
Their effort that hit the bar was close and how their lad missed the tap-in in the second half I’ll never know, but a welcome 3 points - well done LM and the lads.

What I am saying is that I don't see us much better than seasons past with the outlay and business we did in the summer. Hirakawa impressed me with his liveliness and looks to be a good future player but what has happened to Mayulu who was touted as an excellent purchase? The win today looked just like many others over many seasons but we just seem to lack something for me and we appear to be very similar to years gone by without adding any flair and consistency. I know we are carrying several injured players that could make a difference but we need to have resiliency in the squad to weather those times in the darkness of winter. For a game in which we had most of the play I just thought we should have looked better and scored another goal but at least we had the strength to come back and win so well done the lads. :emoticon-0137-clapp

Atkinson -McCrorie-Dickie for me are all starters.

Three players that make us better.

Nice analogy Ashton well said. Don't tell me you want Jamie Oliver as manager.

    Dickie is injured.
I thought Yu was brilliant when he came on. A really exciting player.

Dickie - 100%, the other 2 is a margin call tbh. I prefer Vyner & Dickie as our CBs, and the improvement in Tanner over the last 12 months has been phenomenal for me, although McCrorie is better going forwards, just.

Did Yu and Armstrong give Liam Manning wiggle room to fight another day.

If Oxford had scored that open goal 2-0 down we would be talking a different story.

Those two along with Twine in his rightful place in th 10 made the difference second half.

LM needs to play the right players in the right places as showed yesterday in the second half.

Big month with some tough fixtures coming up.

let’s hope the gaffer learns from his mistakes and quickly -
