I just wish they would make the review process a lot shorter because sometimes it takes forever to make a decision that after the fact looks easy. The off-side rule could be slightly revised to enable quicker decisions rather than all this triangulation nonsense which delays the game way more than necessary. I would suggest that all the players are loaded up with sensors on their extremities that lights up a red light from which to make the decision immediate. On a more serious note the whole process needs to be bettered by reducing the time waster that it quite often becomes because it also slows down the match overall and breaks any momentum that a team may have going for them. Going back to the old style off-side rule whereby it was called immediately a player gets the ball while in an off-side position would also be beneficial because it is only a matter of time before a player gets seriously injured, especially the goalkeeper, by allowing the play to continue after what is essentially a foul. The allowing of play to continue after any play should only go to the non-offender and not the offender and that to me makes sense.
Bird has been outstanding, been our best player the last two games. It’s a long season and it means we have options, whilst Bird is playing so well there why change him. Alternating is working pretty well at present, again it’s a long season, we have options, it’s a squad game now, not like years ago.
a very good Q, WE seem to be blessed with a surfeit of average and above average players for all positions. SO IS IT A CASE OF dropping a player to to do as RR states or change the formation to suit" [ prior to him, LM signing I looked at his line ups for a number of games ] LM seems currently struck on a 4 - 2 - 3 - 1 formation! ............. In his time at OXFORD he used 3 or 4 alternatives, there didnt seem to be any regular reasoning behind winning 1 week with formation A then winning next week formation B either sticking A or B or having formation C /D / etc , more often it seemed same players available. he did use 4-1-4-1 / 4-4-2 as well as other combinations around 4-2- 3 - 1 like maybe 4-1- 3- 2 ?
