But he did score one, which is better than anyone else has done for years. Lots of talented players have taken them before and since and not scored any. I'm not even sure who our last free kick scorer before Twine was; has there been another since that spell in 2019 where Grosicki scored three in consecutive games? You'd think there must've been but I'm struggling to think of one.

Scott Twine was bigged up as a left sided wunderkind who we were incredibly fortunate to sign and who would transform our progress, propelling us towards the promised land.

He turned out to be ****, so we binned him and replaced him with Ryan Giles who was bigged up as a left sided wunderkind who we were incredibly fortunate to sign and who would transform our progress, propelling us towards the promised land.

He got one eventually, his is a story of many footballers. For whatever reason it doesn't work out at a club, player moves on and shines. :emoticon-0138-think

Twine's first free kick ended up halfway up the South Stand. Might have been v. Rotherham. After that got nearer and nearer the target and ended up scoring that belter v Cardiff. Okay player, but nothing special. Think we've got better in the building with the likes of Puerta and Alzate.

Was talking on the radio the other week that so many teams now pass the ball at free kicks instead of shooting as only 6 % of free kicks at goal go in, something else the stats obsessed are trying to suck out the game , or guardiola , might be his fault as well

There don't seem to be many players about who are good at it lately.

That's the thing, how many did people expect in half a season? Don't think anyone would dispute that Andy Dawson was a free kick specialist but he didn't average one every half a season. Very few players do.

Hasn't he scored 4/5 goals all season?
    Are they his only goals?

In the 2024/2025 season, Scott Twine has scored two goals from direct free-kicks for Bristol City, one against QPR and another against Wolves.
    Here's a more detailed breakdown:
    • Free-kick goals: Twine has scored 2 goals from direct free-kicks this season.
    • Overall goals: He has scored a total of 5 goals in 26 matches in the Championship.
    • Home vs Away: 5 of his 5 goals were scored at home, while he has not scored any away goals.
    • Goal per 90 minutes: His goals scored per 90 minutes is 0.26.
    • Total G/A (goals + assists): His total G/A is 8 for this season.
    • Set-piece king: Twine has scored more direct free-kick goals than anyone else in the EFL since the start of 2022-23.
    • Free kick against Wolves: Twine scored a stunning free kick against Wolves in a cup tie
