I thought Mehmeti was one of our better players although his mistake leading to their goal. Armstrong, Twine, Knight were all quite poor taking the foot off the press.. We did the same under Nige only worse imo, especially after scoring.. allowing opposition getting their own grip on the game..
We are City We deceive our supporters by not winning games we ought to But we have a silly knack of getting results when they’re not expected We have a decent record at Middlesbrough in recent years after many previous seasons of beatings But Should we lose the next 4 the suits may need to admit they were wrong Again
Next ten games guys -luvvly jubbly Next 10 games: Middlesborough away Stoke away Leeds home Preston away Sheffield United home Norwich away Burnley home Watford away Plymouth home Portsmouth away
In charge of what? Beating Boro there? Think you will find our record there has been really good, sine they built the Riverside, not so good when at Ayrson (what ever they called it) park
Armstrong had a simple pass on to Mehmeti and he did some numpty flick thinking hes Neymar putting Mehmeti straight into pressure. Goal conceded from Armstrong ****e decision instead of hold it up give to feet.
Sinclair Armstrong has got to start scoring, the one where Twine put him through one on one with the keeper was embarrassing. I’d give Mayulu a run of games.
Armstrong has to be better when through on goal and why does he always look so angry? Back to you supcon on Mehmeti as I thought he had one of his better outings today but I do get frustrated when he consistently overdoes his time on the ball and he did it again today which was the set-up for their goal. There is talent in there somewhere and I just we, and him, could use it to score more goals.
With the backing Manning has received we should be playing far better. Passing for the sake of passing numbs the soul. Ffs our goal came from grit, determination and a great cross into the box. Manning is sucking the life out of football.
I must confess the future does not look good under Liam but am I correct in thinking that Derek McInnes was worse? My skepticism about the hiring of Manning had more to do with our propensity for taking the cheap option rather than his personal record with another team at a lower level of football. My current grouch is that I believe we should be way better with the transfer activity we did during the summer break and yet here we go once more in failing to have a competitive team and looking exactly the same as the failures from our less than stellar past. Let us just imagine the axe actually falls on Liam the biggest question will be who next, and given our history in dilly dallying around in that facet of our management I can't see Jurgen Klopp being on our list of potential candidates. I watched the Brighton vs Spurs game today and the commentator said that he thought Brighton are a great example of how to achieve great things due mainly to their business plan without constantly trying to change their fortunes with ridiculous decisions that throw everything off kilter just for the sake of change. When will we ever learn that success is easy if you know what to do and where you want to be, but we seem to be always looking down the wrong road that has led us nowhere and yet we still need to wake up to what we are doing wrong. Hello Steve are you there?
Backing (and I know you mean financially) is only relevant when comparing to other teams in a given season, not going backwards as times and scenarios are different. We are still about in the middle in terms of spending power in this league; therefore, backing (financially) we probably should be in the middle third of teams in this league, which is where we have largely finished over the past 6 seasons. Yes, some managers have been given more money than others, but against different contexts, they are not comparable now to then. Even in our ‘heyday’ of spending we never amongst the top echelons of this division.
I still support Manning - for now. It’s not because I like what’s happening - I don’t, but I also don’t trust Tweedledum and Tweedledee to appoint a decent replacement. We have a tough run of games ahead and if we get battered every week then I’m afraid we’d have no choice but to sack him. Historically, this club under successive management regimes has bizarrely played better against the better sides and struggled against the cloggers. Let’s hope we’re about to see a repeat of that trend. The last thing I want is us being a test pilot for yet another green manager still learning his trade.
Respect your commitment to Manning-if he is here after the break we are going down those next ten games are against some serious teams in the championship race. Clearly way out his comfort zone-At one point yesterday Cardiff looked like they were going to rip us apart for 10 minutes.
My commitment to Manning is not unconditional RR. If things don’t improve then I will very reluctantly have to join the ‘Manning out’ brigade. There is no pleasure or satisfaction in sacking the manager. It’s a recognition of failure.
I agree, for me it’s still too early to think about replacing him; however, a minimal points return between now and the end of Nov, will inevitably bring pressure on him. Unlike some on here, I want him to succeed (as I have all BCFC managers), but like those before him, if he doesn’t hit the targets he’s given, he will be gone. It’s always been the same way.
LM is our manager at the moment so gets my support. I have increasing concerns though. However although the results of the last two games were disappointing given the respective league position of our opponents we should remember Cardiff won their previous game and Sheffield U beat WBA the game before us and then in the next Cov away at the weekend. Neither beat City
