We are down 0-1 in part due to slack defending and now here we are against the odds but at least it's early on.
A bit unlucky that, a weak shot from Brownhill that Dickie probably didn’t need to divert. Won’t be easy to get a goal back against Burnley, they have only conceded 6 so far this season.
Our passing out of defence is pretty bad and unless we wake up another home defeat stares us in the face.
We are struggling to keep hold of it. You can see why they have conceded so few, they get back quickly and have just blocked any route to goal. We need a different option, so I see Armstrong coming in soon to give them something different to think about.
'Dickie probably didn't need to divert', Supcon what are you like. Anyway our makeshift RWB caught out for their goal and a deserved lead for Burnley.
Unlucky with the goal. Without the deflection it was a straight forward stop for Max, he did well to react, but had no chance with the follow up, that luckily fell perfectly for Anthony to blast into the roof of the net.
Feel we are paying them a bit too much respect, need to give them less space and be a bit more prepared to go forward and attack them. Conditions aren’t helping mind, both sides are struggling to maintain possession.
Their back line is handling anything we can put at them with comparative ease and unless our passing and commitment improves we will struggle in the second half. Anis is trying to be like Messi and is having the ball taken away from him way too easily, so forget the tricks and get back to basics and shoot rather than holding on too long. I think we have too many invisible players out there and need some changes earlier rather than later if we want anything better from this game against a difficult but disciplined squad.
There’s no question max had it covered before the deflection, the rest is as described in my previous post.
Having now seen Sheff Utd and Burnley at the Gate, it’s not hard to see why they both fared so poorly in the PL last season. Neither side impressed me tbh, but, they do both know how to win tight games. That is what we need to learn to do if we’re ever going to be close to the playoffs or promotion.
Up to 67 minutes Burnley were far better. The 3 subs made a heck of a difference.......or did Burnley sit back. Tbf I think the former. Another mid table finish.
