Exactly. If Blackburn were ‘not bothered’ then they bloody well should be in their position. Their fans deserve more than ‘not bothered’.
Unexpected result and score but no surprise there as it’s City ! Well done lads but can’t help thinking that it was a meaningless game for us and our strikers finally find their scoring boots when it doesn’t matter very much
Yep, I have to agree. Yes, we played well, but that Blackburn performance is as bad I can remember seeing from a fellow Championship in a very long time. Their No5 in particular had a torrid evening.
Didn't we beat Plymouth 5-0 this season ? I'm behind LM but Blackburn were terrible, they couldn't cope with our press. QPR and Millwall, equally poor sides, did...... I can't fathom the difference.
Good response Tom -depends what he can bring in this summer-needs to move the following on Cornick-Wells-Naismith- James offer a deal on lower terms that would be sensible. Williams has one great game-two//three average games. i would imagine Bird is his replacement. Max has done well lately but needs to improve his box commanding and distribution. Could do with another quality keeper if Bajic and Harvey are not ready, Tommy is off- so we need two quality with pedigree strikers -cost us big time this season. Would have probably got a playoff spot if it had been sorted. Can't wait to see Dickie alongside Atkinson that will be some partnership with goals in them. Needs to have a good window with the right signings coming in-no half measures.
I take nothing away from our performance, you can only beat what’s in front of you and we did play really well, our press was very good and we were clinical. I thought our set up was spot on (again), so credit to LM. Great to see us doing well against a struggling team, scoring first and relatively early is key, as they aren’t able to sit back and frustrate us, even if they want to. Same again Saturday please. Thety had no time to really settle down.. only saw the highlights but they seemed to lack pace in all the plays I saw?
Who are you and what have you done with Ashton? Spot on by the way.. Got to say LMs tactics & setups the majority of the time have been spot on.. the players are definitely adjusting and adapting to how the coach wants his teams to perform.. I actually believe he will take us places if he’s backed by the suits..
Said that about Nige all they frigging did was keep taking his best players and selling them. Head against a brick wall. Something had to give and that was the sacking of Nige by Junior.
I’m not sure it’s necessarily all about the funds but about the type of players that will fit with LMs methods..
I say it as I see it, always have. I’ve criticised before when things are wrong imo, I will always give credit when I think it’s due. Others may not agree with my assessment,,that’s fine we all see things differently.
We put in what I would call a classy display against an extremely poor Blackburn side and the result highlighted our complete dominance. I had fears about Liam's hiring and although I saw some changes that I liked in some matches they were followed by the usual Bristol City failure to deal with what on paper looked like a relatively easy fixture against strugglers. The upcoming match versus Huddersfield is one of those types of games in which we struggle to beat them down and it will be interesting to see if the lads and Liam are up to the task. Blackburn supporters must be wondering what hit them at Ashton Gate and like another I felt for them after such a long away trip to watch that rubbish they produced. I still think we are still several bricks short of a full competitive load and I wonder if Liam will be allowed to have his input into how the players, new and old, shape up for next season?
Throughout this season I have been a regular critic of Mehmeti and for good reason but his performances of late have been at a better level than his previous outings. He still frustrates the hell out of me by his constantly wanting to hold onto the ball for way too long but he clearly has some ability and his goal last night highlighted that skill and I think that alongside another striker he could thrive. Cornick on the other hand looks totally disinterested and should be moved on in the summer. Will the pocket book be opened for Liam to strengthen his current squad or will we go down the usual dead end street and only replace with lesser mortals?
Mehmeti always had something, but most times it looked raw, bit school playground....but since LM's been here and has scored the odd goal, confidence has grown...still learning but becoming a decent player
It was only 2 players RR…. you're getting confused with a previous manager here. Who, before RP starts, was at least allowed to bring in a larger amount of inferior replacement than Nige was? If you can't see the difference in the tactics and setup between LM and NP, there is no hope for you.
