I think we are a team that really has no idea what we truly want, and until such time as our boss decides the right way to success we will troll around the bottom of the table looking for miracles. The supposed dedicated newcomers fall by the wayside all too often and if they do manage to stay fit they can't fill their roles. My mind is scattered as to who is at fault for our continual abysmal attempts at improving the squad, when we continue to insist in bringing in new players who fail to meet the remit on the application form. The reason players are plying their trade in the lower echelons of the Football League is because that is where their skills are best suited and coming up in the rankings can be a bridge too far for most of them. Currently we are running on empty with the bench looking quite devoid of proven performers and given that the starters are way off the pace it doesn't look too promising for the rest of the season. The transfer window closing is not that far away and unless we have seriously been looking to up the ante with a couple of players who can pass the test I fear what may happen if we can't get at least 4 points from our next two fixtures. The boos at full-time on Saturday were there, although a little muted by my ears, and they will get worse unless the team get better really soon and the thought of going into the New Year without a manager is frightening. Previous managers can't help us anymore and so we move on with Nigel - but how long before that changes?
Scott was a paramount in NP'S PLANNING .. I think the bottom has fallen out of the bottom of the bag ..... [ OK AS is is injured so wouldnt have had him ] The team was playing very well in the pre season, OK not strong opposition but did give them opportunities to try their own things in accompanyment with team mates. NP and the whole team I suspect is expecting someone else to be sold, and the season another wash out [ performance and position in league probably a bonus issue in their contracts ! ] it is a team game and them that attract attention are wary of bids for them.. or contracts running down etc cant wait... why run your contract down.. seems more common with us than other teams! ... maybe get a promise to sign and it does not happen.. despondency!!
With a total of 4 shots on goal in our first 3 matches I can't really see any improvement whereas we are probably slipping backwards. Two missed glorious scoring chances against Birmingham just about summed up our lack of firepower up front and our shots total confirms only one of our weaknesses which don't seem to have been addressed. A season of struggles lies ahead and only some astute late transfer window incomings and outgoings can satisfy our thirst for better, and to be brutal I think yet again we have dismally failed to meet the hype and expectations.
