Whilst I’d agree with you in other circumstances I don’t think we will at the moment, we’ve hardly got enough midfielders at the moment and Adam is arguably the best we have right now.

Being reported that Cameron Pring has already been recalled and Hakeeb Adelakun is about to and Palmer also later this week.

More worrying is it is also being reported that CSKA Moscow are interested in signing Adam Nagy after they received a knock back for their first choice holding midfielder. Him and Bakinson are the only players that look even remotely like midfield players.

I agree with you, I believe we paid 3.5 mil, no fee mentioned, I fear he will be gone.

Weimann, Baker, Diedhiou, Paterson, Hunt, Rowe, O'Leary and Hunt all out of contract in June.

I'm not sure whether O'Leary might have already signed an extension.

Football has totally changed and the players not the clubs wield all the power, I think it's called the tail wagging the dog.

Quick question, how in all honesty do you think that we could possibly have stopped any of our high profiles sales from bettering themselves with bigger clubs?, ummm what a choice a club stagnating or far more money and play in the prem? tough choice?

It's not another excuse for LJ i'm afraid, it's the way of BCFC and most clubs in our position.

A nice pay rise and European football can easily turn a young mans head.

Answer to your question.....None of them went to the likes of Liverpool or Man C which would IMO be really difficult to refuse . they went to lower prem clubs more interested to avoid relegation, so nothing really special.
The job of those involved at City should have been to have convinced those players that we were very serious about promotion, to be shown by the board how serious................... off loading fringe players to coincide with ffp ..
Serious about keeping our key players which sometimes was voiced by SL, initially at the time felt genuine but more likely for the purpose to increase the transfer fee..
Had we been a club like Norwich or say West Brom with history of achieving promotion, or a club with the right determination as the likes of Brighton, Bournmouth or even Cardiff those players may well have had second thoughts.

So what are you saying?, that they weren't that good anyway? that doubling their wages was not an influence? playing in the prem was not an influence? i'm confused.

Serious about promotion? that's hilarious, as if any of the players who left would believe that bullshit.

Be honest given the crap over the past 2.5 seasons, would you give up doubling your wages and chance to play in the prem in a notoriously short career to play turgid crap in the championship with zero chance of promotion?

    So elegantly put Jiffie!!
I Don't think they were that good, but players that were good for us. Good players to build with ..... I repeat myself so many times on here.....IMO, we were and have been only a few positions to fill including a leader on the pitch of being a decent team.......I don't believe we were as $hit as many made out on here...
Continually selling your key players, will achieve what we usually achieve................nothing
I believe the same with what we have now, but the selling of Nagy just shows our commitment ....Wonder how pleased Deano is with that!!

Even with those players we were wholly inconsistent.
I agree that we have had and still have a strong spine to the team, we need a quality right wing back + a replacement, a replacement left wing back and quite obviously a quality creative midfielder leader, but that has been the case for 4 years and should have been sorted but never was and probably never will be, the club is obsessed with centre backs and strikers and strikers need supply.

"Not as **** as many made out on here?"
No wins in LJ's last 9 games, just 2 draws, 8 wins in the last 26 games of 2019/2020.
4 wins in the last 15 games of 2018/2019.
4 wins in the last 22 games of 2017/2018.
That is 16 wins in 63 games, at the most important time of the season, you and I have a very different idea of ****.

Perhaps this shows that we don't take the Jan transfer window seriously as a club, and get in what we need for the final surge? An issue that cost us very dearly in 2008 when we didn't get in a striker to see us over the line then.

As a club, regardless of manager, we always mess up taking that final step when needed, which some on here in the past have implied this is a deliberate decision by SL, as, does he really want Premiership football and the costs that come with it? A point I have often wondered myself..

Apart from last season, we went to the final game of the other 2 seasons with a chance (albeit slim) of the play-offs, so I would argue over a whole season, that is not as good as we wanted and were targeting, but it's certainly a long, long way from $hite? You can look at any sub-set of data to paint a picture, if we only had 4 wins from the final 22 games in 2017/18, how many wins did we have in the first 22 games of that season, it must have been a lot, to still be in the play-off hunt?

Going around in circles here, You are talking results and I agree, otherwise we'd be on top of the pile!! I was talking about the team which you pointed out as I did, require some quality additions.....Not sure what the argument is..<doh>
Thing is, we've sacked our last coach which the majority wanted, will things actually change? will we get the quality players required? If things continue the same as before, can I ask, what the point was of the club parting company with the coach we had??
