Norwich City set to swoop for Bristol City manager Liam Manning in bargain £800k deal https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/n...ol-city-manager-liam-manning-in-bargain-deal/ Is a £800k release clause a good deal or are we being stitched, did Jon boy or BT agree to this deal or is it good for us to just accept it, when will some info come out from our side, what efforts are they making to keep our successful head coach, just asking..
Neil Warnock Nigel Pearson Chris Wilder Russell Martin Steve Cooper Any of those Ohh and new owners please
After 6 weeks of due diligence, and watching him at least 40 times and his assistant will be …………………Tinnion Brian
Liam Manning has achieved unexpected success with a bargain basement budget No big name is going to want to work for the Lansfowns under current financial restrictions
Spot on. In SL's most recent interview he said 'we're not breaking any budgets, we're not chasing dreams.....we've been down that route before and it failed'. Lansdown is like Starmer. They just don't get it.
It doesn’t bother me particularly that Manning has left, what does bother me is why he left, it bothers me a lot.
some are saying his wife has not settled and wants to go back home to Norwich. Football managers go where the job is so I don’t get that. 1100%. non ambition is why Liam Manning went.
respect his position in getting us into the playoffs but his forwards-sideways-back football was so annoying.
The uncomfortable truth is that Norwich are a bigger club than us with more money to spend So I don’t blame him at all I’d do exactly the same
There owner is no where near as wealthy as Lansdown just more ambitious. We wonder why Bristol City never exceed small club mentality but it is our club
Having read all the comments on here, updated myself via OTIB, studied Bristol Live and other news platforms I am obviously aware something big is developing with regards Liam Manning, so with all of this circulating and contaminating the ether I loyally log in to the Bristol City FC website to update to my own satisfaction the latest developments with regards to our own head coach who just gave us our most success for years, what do I find nothing, no communications, no updates, no Jon boy gormless news bites, no Tinmans confessions, absolute silence, complete ignorance. If Liam moves on I can understand it, I've learned more about Norwich FC and the £800k clause from that direction than our own glorious Czars, it's truly is shocking and as has been said it really shows off our small club mentality.
As far as replacements go I’d give someone like Dave Challinor of Stockport or Richie Wellens of Orient some serious consideration if no bigger or more qualified applicants step forward
I imagine they’ll spin it as a personal thing with LM, wanting to be near home etc, while that may be part of it, there’s no denying he’s seemed increasingly frustrated with things behind the scenes, even stating the good job Nige did. Reading between the lines it seems he’s drawn a similar conclusion to NP about the workings of the club. That’s the worrying thing for me, not that he’s left, but the reason he’s left.
After years and years of successive lacklustre experiments with young, unproven managers, plus Pearson, it’s time to just get the fking job done. Warnock. It won’t be pretty, but he’ll get us to the Prem.
