I was grateful. I just didn’t go over the top on the plaudits for him letting a lot of contracts run out, or our bottom half finishes.
i am beginning to worry now ASHTON! I commented on someone else taking a selfie.......................
I’m always fully behind whoever is our manager. I’m a bit fed up of having rookie ones though, so was not convinced about Manning, he’s done really well he still has a way to go imo. I’m now at the point that I want his learning to continue with us, partly because I’m not confident on who we’d replace him with if he left. Also with all that’s happened this season I want us to keep the core of the team along with Manning and try and add some quality in order to push again. I really don’t want to have to start the whole process again.
I have no issue with rookie managers, despite what many people will say on here, LJ did a good job here, as has LM. DH didn’t, nor did Derek M, but our ‘experienced’ managers haven’t don’t that much, SoD was poor, Nige did ok, the only one to buck the trend and do really well was SC, but that was in the 3rd tier, so not comparable, even though that was a tremendous season.
I admire LM but am not inspired, he is loyal to the club, committed to his team and respects the fan base, Nige had my complete support and no need to expand, Cotts was an individual, sometimes arrogant but completely open and what a great success he gave us, great to have at any level, GJ was superb, I have never liked LJ and I'll leave that one there, we are now a top six club and I look forward to the future, the past is done and dusted.
Don’t matter who we have, some will moan some won’t. One thing for certain in the year 2040 RR will still be saying Nige would be better.
LM is a novice ..... he has batttled through a very difficult season. When you look back at number on here that slagged him off from time to time ... and quite regularly!!! GOOD JOB he likely DOES NOT read this forum!!!!!! I was surprised by his appointment, have my own way assessing and he did slowly pull through to be worthy of reaching 8/10+!!! GJ was a 9+ .... LJ [ pre covid season ] & COTTS also made 9 NP was most erratic from a 5 to a 8+ but tailed off last season here to a 7
Manning has done an excellent job with the 'tools' available. My faith in him will be complete should he sign Atkinson, a striker ( a good one), a proper Championship keeper and gives Mehmeti a free transfer.

A familiar face in South Yorkshire, Johnson spent just under a year in charge of Barnsley. He put the Reds in contention for promotion to the Championship and led them to the EFL Trophy final, but had left for Bristol City before the honours in both competitions could be secured. THE FIRST TIME i HAVE ACTUALLY SEEN MEDIA PUT THIS IN PRINT
